Some Important Info

I totally fucked my block, so I am looking for a new one, I am going back OEM for the simple fact that I cant afford the parts to build it. So you guys can stop msging me

If thsi happens to anyone else, our cylanders are sleeved but they dont come out the sleeves are built inot the block, short and simple you cant buy a new sleeve I have talked to everyone I know about it. I am buying a new block and going back completely OEM

Its not worth the hastle to me to have a car thats fast and not reliable yes it would be reliable if I had the funds to build it

i wonder if it's possable to get a block from a 2.2 or 2.4 and build it like your 2.0? think about it a 2.4 supercharged woohoo

Also found this on Ebay 800 bucks!

PM WopOnTour, he should be able to give you some info. I doubt it is possible for the cylinder to be sleeved and not be able to remove it, that is the point of sleeving the cylinder. If the sleeves can't be removed, then that block doesn't have sleeves. You know how much more difficult it would be to cast a block without sleeves. I think you need to check your sources....

BTW, in the other post that you made, WOP posted up the pics of the tool to remove the sleeve. If you couldn't do it on the LSJ, he would have told you. That guy knows everything there is to know about these engines...

From all the posts that I have been reading about you problems, you just need to take it to some place and have them fix it. Yes, it is going to be very expensive. But you don't have the specialized tools or knowledge to do the work. Re-building an engine is not really a place to be learning new mechanics skils, especially not on a newer engine. If you want to learn some stuff, tear apart an old VW motor. Heck, you might want to look into buy an LSJ crate engine, you might save some money....

I like that idea someone posted earlier about putting the supercharger on the 2.4 engine... that would be sweet

The differance in displacment comes from stroke. The bores are the same, so swapping blocks would be a step backward as it isn't as strong (different casting process) and has the same bore

I am so not buying that. The point of sleeves is so you dont have to replace the block. That sounds like a dealer trying to get more money out of you. Talk to a machine shop in your area and see what they have to say.

Well. It could be just for the wieght savings but I've never heard of not being able to replace sleeves in any sleeved engine.
