Something I thought about it.

3.066 comes with the stage 2 and they add a smaller belt. How come I see poeple like Tofu running a 3.0 and thats it? Can a 3.0 run fine without a tensior or a new belt even if gm supplies one in stage 2? Im not getting stage 2 so thats why I ask.

im not sure exactly what tofu is running, but seems to me that you would obviously have to run a different belt because it will slip if it is running a shorter path

i have a 3.15 and no slip at all.... I would recommend buying a larger tensioner arm for anything less.... you may not notice the slip but you probably are not going to spin the blower as much as you would like your 3" pulley to do so without it.

Are you serious? You and the guy above a couple posts are running a 2.9 and a 3.0 with no adjustments? How would you even know if it was slipping to even know?

I would imagine if the belt slipped, you would notice a huge loss in power

1) You would feel the car loosing power
2) If you belt ever slips you can check by poping the hood and looking for black dust around the pulley. If there is dust your belt is slipping if not then no slip. The Billetflow pulleys have a non slip design so that could help with the reason why mine doesnt. I've had mine since January and love it. Im actually dropping down to the 2.7" pulley with the Billetflow tensioner.

Billetflow is the company that developed the non slip design so anyone else that has it is copying them. Billetflow pullies have these features:

Proper V-groove geometry (for proper belt fit)
Ultra Grip style grooves (for less slip)
Sand Blasted Contact Surface (for less slip)
Anodized for Corrosion Protection
Engraved (for GREAT LOOKS)
Hub made from 4150 prehardened Steel (not cheap mild steel)
Pulley ring made from 6061-T6 Billet Aluminum
Stainless Steel hardware

This makes me want to get a 2.9 if your running it without a tensioner. Id like a 3.0 just to be safe but they only make a 3.15

off topic: What modifications do you need to run a 2.9'' pulley.

All you need to run a 2.9 is a set of BKR7E spark plugs gapped at whatever works (between .030 and .045 for you.

you CAN run a 2.9 with no slip but I wouldn't take the chance. The tensioners are 99.99 from ZZP. Billetflow's pulleys are the greatest IMO and run the least risk of slippage. AND PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DO NOT RUN 2.9 " pulley without bigger injectors.... at 3.15 my injectors were at 100% duty cycle. These guys have had no problems so far but any mechanic worth a damn will tell you more air needs more fuel....

You dont need bigger injectors with a 2.9". Sure the Injectors are at over 100% duty cycle but the car runs super rich to begin with so your not in any danger a/f wise with a 2.9 or even a 2.8". You wanna run your car with a condom on it all the time go ahead but you dont NEED injectors with a 2.9". I've got plenty of data logging to prove it that the power keeps on coming.

wow I thought of all people you would read my post before you responded. So let me correct you. I said that you may be running ok.... but it is not suggested. Anyone in the FI arena will tell you more air needs more fuel... Put some injectors on your car and see how much better it will run with a 2.9 inch pulley... yes you can run a 2.9 without a larger tensioner and without bigger fuel injectors but are you really getting optimal results ? If you want to do things do them right.

also you must take into consideration exactly how long do you want to run your car ... if you are getting rid of the thing in the next 2 yrs or so who cares what you do but if you plan on keeping it for a long time span beating the **** out of it without regard is probably not the way to go.

I never ran anywhere close to the danger side of lean on the stock injectors with my 2.9" and at least with my BF pulley it has never slipped
