Sooo I think she blew...

Coming home tonight I got on in a little in 2nd.
At about 4500 it powered down, through a cel and said "engine power reduced"
Got it home (it did this about 30 sec from home) and it was not smoking, dip stick did not blow out, still has oil, oil seemed clean (ill drain it tomorrow to get a better look) car still ran.
BUT it sounded like it had a cam.
So do you think its blown? Where do I go from here?

Im not even sure what I need to buy and from where...

It didn't blow, you just hit limp mode. It is NOT blown. Mine did this exact thing. Go start it back up, I bet it will run OK but the CEL will still be on and it may possibly go into limp mode. My problem was a dirty SCIP (supercharger inlet pressure sensor) and or MAF sensor. CLeaned those two, cleaned the connections, and all is well.

Mods?

I agree. Maybe unhook the battery first and after a bit try it out.

Don't unhook the battery! It will reset your fueling tables and you will never be able to get the code. Just go start the car lol. Get the code scanned asap, that's your first step. Post in here your findings, and I may or may not be able to help ya out.

The first thing you should do is turn the car on and see if it's still running in heavy limp mode (which it shouldn't be since it has been turned off and has been sitting for a while). After that, get the code scanned...

The funny thing is that in limp mode you get hot and goes into limp mode now in VA this time of year i doubt with just a 2.9 he hit limp mode unless he was pounding on it all day long. Yeah its a 2.9 but in colder weather with 42s it runs leaner.

Air temperature isn't the only cause of limp mode, you know.

Well it makes a difference on how hot or cool your car runs. Specially being a forced induction car cool air can lean out the car.

True. I don't think he was running the car in 100 degree heat, though. lol

But you are right there is more then air that cause limp mode. But most of the time that people hit limp mode its warm out and the car gets warm. I was stating the fact that in VA its cool this time of year so that being said have stage 2 with 2.9 will lean out the car possibly causing damage to a piston. But it could be anything.
