what would be better for the 06' ss/sc, a turboback exhaust or catback? i have read on other forums that the turbo will allow for the greatest release and allow for a little more power, is this true?
There is no turbo on the 06 Cobalt SS SUPERCHARGED...
your confusing something here...
A catback is a exhaust system starting after the downpipe...
Since we just have exhaust manifolds, you would replace those with headers and a new downpipe..
A turboback exhaust is a exhaust for a turbo applicated car..

LOL. Why do people all of sudden think our cars have turbo back exhausts? I saw a thread about one the other day
Oh Em Gee.
Sub'd for the LUL'z...
Cat-back Exhaust = New exhaust from the Catalytic Converter back...
Turbo-Back Exhaust = New Exhaust from the Turbocharger back...

a full exhaust would be the best. That would include headers, downpipe, and a catback.
the sc in ss/sc stands for supercharged, you might have read about the ss/tc which is the new turbocharged version of the ss.

To the OP, you really need to read a book or keep reading on those "other forums." You have a supercharged car not a turbo charged car. You can't have a turbo-back exhaust but you can have a header back exhaust. Here are some recommendations for your header-back exhaust.
HEADER
Down Pipe W/ Cat
Exhaust
