0.43 is a bit wide.

i submitted a howto on this because its such an oft asked question. but it hasnt been approved yet.

Try at least 3-5 different gaps.
every car is different, in different conditions, with different mods.

I have no idea why they are suggesting gaps that wide. stock is 0.40, and generally you will get a little smaller as you make more power.

Try 0.40, 0.37, 0.35
see how the car likes each one, and remember, a rule of thumb is....ONLY go smaller if you have to.

If your having any sputtering, idle issues, misfires at wot etc etc, go a little smaller.

if i am having idling issues do with a .35 mm gap do you think i should open it up some or close it some more. i also have 60 pounders which might be my idle problem as well, but just as of recently the car is starting to stall at idle. it never used to and i have been running the .35 gap for quite some time.

Not to hijack the thread, what about with the stage 2 and a 2.9" pulley, does anyone have any general tips? Thanks!

Regards,

Ryan

my first assumption would be the 60s causing the idle issue.
but its easy to check a few gaps to see if it helps.

to the guy asking about S2 and 2.9, read my first comment.
it basically applys to any car.
start with the stock gap. try 3 or 4 different gap sizes smaller than that, and take close notice of how your car reacts to each setting.
the idle....any surging....any misfiring or sputtering...
any blowout or sputtering at WOT etc etc

dont assume theres a quick fix gap for you.
every car is different, and its in your best interest to spend a little time finding the gap that your car likes.
