Spark plugs

Okay, so I've seen the NGK brand to buy online, but when I go to autozone or advanced auto they tell me some freakin brand for the 2.0L and thats the only one they had. One lady at autozone was like, this can't be right because these are normally used in fords.

but when asked if its a 2.2L they give me all kinds of spark plugs, including NGK's....so my question is, do I just get the plugs for a 2.2 or what?

Just tell them to special order you the NGK's that you want. If they can't/won't just order them off line.

BTW mine runs NGK's also. $25 - $30 PER freekin plug!!!

If you are looking for the step colder just go there with this part #NGK bkr7e. They should have them in stock.

Update - So I got my spark plugs, exact same ones that came stock in the car. Had to order them, anyway, my next concern is, and damnit I wish I had a pic at the moment...( probably later ) is that the old plugs were pretty black. Some looked like they had oil coatings around the bottoms, but it wasnt much, and there wasnt any oil that I could see in where the spark plugs are...

I'm running a stage 2 tune pretty much with a 2.9 pulley and 42's. I know I run slighty rich due to the tune, but are the plugs supposed to be black like that?

Mine were really black too. Even when I put new plugs in & took the new plugs back out to take a look at them they were black also after like 1 hours of driving.

I'd like to know if this is normal also.

I would like to bump this thread.....any other info on what the plugs look like after running them a while? I tried to find the NGK plugs in my small town, nobody stocks them, not even NAPA auto parts. I went with some cheapo copper autolites, one step colder with stage 2. I want to run a 2.9 pulley also in the future. Any advice?? My car felt like it had a slight miss, only 7000 miles. My interceptor gauge shows 6 to 10 misses sometimes at low rpm, but runs fine at higher rpm range. It just seems to sputter a little on take off and cold temps when I first start it. Also with slight accelerating uphill.

I bought some other plug,...#50xx or something, like one step colder....autolite.... yeah, maybe $2 each or around there......it looks like my MPG maybe went up 2 mpg or so???... I am stage 2 tuned....GM tune..... will need a tune eventually..... my old stock NGK plugs were sort of grey colored on the tips......looked sort of clean, no oil or anything.... Since the day i bought it from the dealer, it just sounded like it had a small miss or whatever....could have returned for warranty work I guess... but decided to try it myself...... I am not sure how these plugs will run in wintertime here in Wisconsin..... The car runs better once it nears that 180 degree temp. In wintertime, that is about when I get home from my 20 minute drive to work...ha ha......
