Why not just get a CAI? LSJs have enough heat soak issues to begin with.

i had a rough month one time with my intake getting wet etc. Car would drive fine and as soon as it started to snow my car would go crazy. Apparently the filter had popped off without me noticing it. Ruined one maf sensors and finally swapped out with a zzp 3 inch over the injen and put a new maf in. Problem Solved.

No SRI for the 05-07 SS's.

I've never had a problem with rough idle and I've had my Fujita on for like 70,000 miles or so now. Filter got wet one time during a torrential downpour. I just blocked off where it was splashing in and it went away.

If you're getting dirt in your throttle body, you've got something else going on. First of all you're going to fry a MAF if there's that much crap getting through. Second of all, is it a dry flow filter or oiled? If it's oiled how long since you last cleaned and oiled it?

What mods are on the car other than the intake?

Not doubting that the intake could be contributing, but it's not a very common problem.

Do you know anyone that has a stock airbox you could borrow to see if that makes the problem go away?

Yeah, if you suspect the CAI is the problem, I'd start there. Process of elimination. I was just wondering if the car was tuned or had injectors, I've seen a lot of 60# cars, especially ones that were tuned early on, have not necessarily a rough idle, but they'd definitely bounce RPMs at idle. That got smoothed out for the most part though and if your car was either kept or put back to stock, that shouldn't be an issue.
