Thats what I thought, and for the speed thing IMO people shouldnt get a hard time from us for going over 100, so long as its not in a 25 residential, lol keep it on the highway
In some areas the speed limit is 90mph so therefore that means most people drive between 80-100mph on those roads so to generally say over 100mph is stupid is not right, now if someone starts hitting the SS's max speeds then we can worry

I was racing a corvette in my 02 trams am ws6 and got clocked at 126mph by a state boy. That was after slamming on my brakes. I have a $500 lawyer bill, $100 or so dollars in court costs, a $400 fine, and a pretty hefty increase in my insurance. Looking back on my mistake, $1000 isn't worth speeding.

I got a ticket going 71 in a 55 2 1/2 years ago. It was construction, and although I didn't see anyone working at the time, the trooper said he was going to check and my fine would double if there is any workers present. Went to pay my fine 3 weeks later over the internet and the fine had in fact doubled. Payed it and went on with my life. 6 months ago my insurance literally DOUBLED. I figured it was because my insurance company finally discovered the ticket, but $1008 for 6 months still seemed excessive. When I gave them a call, they said I had a ticket for 91 in a 55 on my record. When the department of transportation entered the ticket into their computers, they mis-read the 71 as 91 (the 7 had a little "hook" on the front of it, most of the trooper's handwriting on the ticket was illegible). It took me 4 months and a lot of aspirin to get it finally fixed on my record so that my insurance rates could be reasonable again.
No speeding ticket is worth it, but yet after all that, I still get the itch every now and then.

I thought I was in the free and clear of my speeding ticket for a 63 in a 45, from over a year ago. Now you got me worried again. It was in another state (PA) and I live in MD so I was hoping the beaurcracy might have lost it, but now I fear it could of only slowed it down.
My Story:
The limit was 65 and it dropped to 45 for some stupid curve and I was slowing down but obviously not enough for the 15-30 police cars pulling people over. Yeah what a nice way to end your holiday weekend. We rode by all the people getting tags and I start slowing down and my GF yells "why are you slowing down? " "Because of the cop pulling me over honey."
I hear the insurance company will also jack up your rates if you have trouble with your credit.

Ahh, in that case you might be alright. I got 3 tickets inside of 5 weeks in 2001 (plus that last ticket in 2003). My insurance company doesn't check the record every year unless you file a claim. In fact, they apparently didn't check it for at least 5 years. Up until last December when my policy renewed I was still getting the safe driver discount. 2 of those 3 tickets in 2001 didn't come up when they checked my record because they only go back 3 years. If they had waited another month, only that last ticket would have come up.
Clutch Comment:
Powershifting, although cool and fun very bad for the clutch. You most likely overheated the friction material which glazed your clutch. It will eventually return to normal. You should practice shift fast and very smoothly to atain maximum effort and performance from your car powertrain combination.
Speeding:
Lets not be hippocrates here every one speeds even your grandparents, if you drive like and idiot cuting people off and weaving in and out of traffic then your are being inconsidarete, but that is a matter of prospective. I got cloked once in my C5 Corvette at 162 MPH on am open road with laser from behind. The cop gave me a brake and only wrote it up for 94 MPH in a 65 zone due to fines double in a 65 MPH tiket was like $650.00. Fought the tiket and got it reduce to $250.00 and lost two complete afternoons of my time.
Go to the TRACK and spend the $ 150.00 - 250.00 per day with instruction and all the safety equipment at your disposal. You will have more fun and less hassle than dealing with lawyers or the courts.

Comments like that will sink your hopes of getting warrenty work in the event your clutch ...........
GM definetly monitors this board however. For what exact purpose I am not sure but I know they do watch.[/QUOTE]

GM's automotive operations lost $1.3 billion in the first quarter, and in North America the company lost $2,300 per vehicle sold. One big reason is that GM's average sale price, after all the rebates and 0% financing deals are taken into account, is just $20,659. That's the lowest among major carmakers. Toyota (TM) is tops with $26,514, according to Harbour & Associates, a Troy (Mich.) consulting firm....
..Not monitoring a Internet board (Whos job would that be,,..?). .to see what Colbalt owners/lessees are doing in the streets of North America!!!!

I was going 72 in a 70 using my signals and everything. The only thing that might have caught his eye was my out-of-state tag. He quized me on my address and birthdate and then asked if I'd mind if he searched my vehicle. Can immigration make traffic stops? He didn't give me a ticket for anything (if he can even write them, anyways) or actually search my vehicle, but I'm still a little disheartened by his abuse of power.
