I was mainly interested to see what aftermarket intakes people run. While the airbox mod is a good one, I would not add it to this poll since it’s not an aftermarket intake… Everyone ok with this?

XTC CAI
Pros
  • Great concept
  • 3" intake
  • Performs very well
  • Utilizes the stock air box
  • You can cover the airbox in the winter and still get the advantage of a 3" intake

Cons (no offense)
  • Price
  • Cheap cone filter comes with the kit and measures 3.25"
  • Cheap hose clamps
  • Thin tubing
  • Poor fitment
  • Quality

does like everybody have the check engine light problem?? i have the ebay intake but since day one its had the check engine light. after i installed stage 2 i was told that it would go away, which it did...for a day. now it will not go back and my car is running real hesitant....i have read that AEM claims their intakes dont have any problems with this and they are designed specifically to NOT throw check engine light codes...does anyone know if this is true or anyone running the AEM cold air intake??

Did you run your car hard in the rain? Because my car will do that because water clogs up the filter. Just dont run it hard and let it dry out and all will be well.

nope i sure have not ever done that. i just think its a cheap intake tubing thats not real smooth, cause i dont see why stage 2 is not bringing me in the right air fuel ratio with the intake. its a very irritating thing though

Nope, I get an issue with mine when the weather varies drastically. Like in the fall when it first drops like 20 degrees and then again in the spring when it gets warm again. I maybe have the CEL for a week each time.

I had the eBay intake. Cut off the bottleneck at the bottom by the filter and the check engine light will go away.

I have the injen, I guess like the majority. I have never had a cell, even after I re-oiled it with the K&N recharge kit. I am happy with it and haven't found any negatives YET, and damn does that thing SCREAM.
