ss/sc is faster. i have read on a g6 forum that the gtp with the 6 speed manual runs about 15.0 the 3900 n/a with vvt definitely are not as potent as the grand prix gtp with the 3800sc (which was the predecessor) i was considering a g6 when i bought my cobalt ss/sc and i have no regrets

Um no the Grand Prix is not the predecessor to the G6, your thinking of the Grand Am.

The Grand Prix in GXP form will walk away from a Cobalt as they can run mid 13s with a good driver.

THe G6 GTP is another story, a SS/SC should walk from a GTP but if you joke around they will surprise you.

They were, but now they have changed. The old GTP is no more, its now GXP. But the old GTP engine is now the standard GT engine.

Fast as hell? The new GXP yes, but the old GTP no. mid 13s vs. high 14s.

Correct. The Grand Prix no longer has a GTP trim. But the GT trim has the old GTP engine...for what its worth.

The G6 still does use the GTP trim, which leaves the option open for a future GXP..but I don't think its been anounced yet.

the new G6 GTP's are kinda slow bro youll win if you have a SS s/c no matter what

My brothers friend has one stock he ran 15.0 at 96/97 mph now he has intake and custom exhuast and is running 14.8's at 98/99 mph from a roll i pull on him and never stop + they top out at 120 YES a 6speed tops out at 120 in 4th gear he was on the dyno (stock) and they topped his car out on the dyno the tech were dumfounded! he made 220 whp and 220 tq stock but they are 10 times heavier than us also!

Venom out!

I was looking at a G6 GTP along with the cobalt. I thought the torque of the G6 GTP was very nice, and under partial throttle made the GTP feel faster than the cobalt, although it definitely is not faster. If the G6 was just a bit sportier I would have gone with that, but I'm very happy with the cobalt.
