SS Supercharged reliability

I am thinking of buying a new car i am torn between the VW GTI and the Cobalt ss/sc

GTI 32,400 before taxes

Cobalt ss/sc 25,800 before taxes

i wanted to know how reliable is the cobalt from people who own the cars.

Thanks

every car is reliable, reliablity is a matter of maintence and how you drive it (take it easy, but there is always those times you can have a little fun )

So far so good with my 07'. Small issues.
VW's satisfaction/reliability ratings are amongst the lowest in the industry these days.
32 grand for a hatchback. Jeepers.

Go with the balt, I have a friend that has the gti mrk 5. The ss/sc is far superior. Not to say the gti isnt a great car but the balt really is the better car. I was torn between the exact same decision.

do some research. VW has some of the worst reliability rating, and a little fact; land cruiser has THE WORST there is.

I hate vw. I've never seen a car to check engine ratio like one of those! VW is also more unreliable. And that's bad since we're comparing to gm here

i bet if you went to a GTI site he would get the exact opposite response...

its all relative, read impartial reviews on both cars and make your decision from there... unless you already made up your mind and you just want us all to reassure you

I had the same problem...
I went with the SS/SC becasue my one of my buddies at the Vdub dealership is a tech there.... and some of the stories the he tells about GTI's are pretty bad...

My other buddy who woks there actually bought a GTI (so he won't dis his own car )
In the end after I bought the SS, I ended up kicking the crap out of his GTI... after he upgraded the ECU... I was stock...

Really, test drive both of them. I test drove about 10 cars before I decided on mine.
The bottom line -> Pick something that YOUR comfortable in and that suits YOU!

The VW does have a few nicer features but almost 7 grand more, I didn't think it was worth it and I bought my first american car. No problems and it has been modded since it left the stealership.

I didn't even consider the GTI before because once I saw the SS/SC I fell in love with it.

Now that I noticed that the VW is much more expensive with lesser perfomance numbers than the SS/SC, I'm soooo glad I chose The Balt

.
