Stage 1 Flash

Does anyone know how much the dealership would charge just to do a stage 1 flash? The reason i ask is wouldn't it be cheaper if you could get the 42lb injectors cheap somewhere and have the dealership do the stage 1 flash?

i would say save your money and go straight to the stage 2. because your going to have to replace the injectors anyway when you make the switch

NO! You need the authorization code from the Stage Kit inorder for GM to update their system to calibrate your VIN # with the new program or give you a VCI # to access the program through GM TIS.

ok so I did SOME research and I noticed that the stage one bumps you up to 236 hp and the stage 2 bumbs you up to 241. does that sound right? was I right about the injectors being diff. for stage 1 and stage 2? if there the same wouldnt it be cheaper to just buy the pulley and belt to upgrade to stage 2?

same injectors for both stages. All Stage 2 does is swap out the pulley. If I recall correctly it's the same tune as well.

So yes, it is cheaper to just buy stage 1 and get a smaller pulley.

It should be noted however that the GM stage 2 hub is a bitch to get off, if you ever want to go smaller then a 2.8.

If you want, you can spend $400+ for stage one, or, you can buy injectors for $200, a harness for I think it's around $50 (my friends and I just kinda gives these away once we move on) A 2.5 or 2.6 inch pulley and hub for $100, and get a tune from someone ($100-$300, depending on who will do it.) and run mid 13s.

Then again, for the warranty fans, the gm stage 1 is the way to go. Just expensive.
