Stage 2 $598

Just ordered my stage 2 for my REDLINE, but after some googleing and reading I wanted to say thanks to the people for the information by trying to help with the price of the stage 2 as I stumbled onto what is the best price I have seen for one. I just placed my order

17803229 - Stage 2 Performance Upgrade Kit, Cobalt SS/ION Redline
$598.95 1 $598.95

Product Total $598.95
Shipping & Handling $9.95
Final Total $608.90

I just went online direct to the site and got this conflicting price info. I had stumbled onto the original through searches and now when i go to www.paceperformance.com I come up with this info.

Power Upgrade Kit - 17803229
Stage 1 and 2 Upgrade Kit, (Complete w/ Hub, Pulley, Bolts, Belt, Fuel Injectors, Label and Instructions)

Price Detail
Without Installation: $666.75
With Installation: $764.25
Product Description Price Per Item Quantity Total

I hope this helps some people save some money. I have the REDLINE and I love it, but I am not going to put down the Cobalt SS one bit. It looks awesome and is the EVIL TWIN to the REDLINE. I like my rear access doors (suicide doors) and is the main reason I chose it over the Cobalt SS.

I have not read that yet. The performance is what I am after. The stock performance is so impressive I can't wait to see what this power boost does. I have (with other vehicles) added K&N cold air intakes with no noticable increase in power (never dynoed it) and from what I have seen from this product with one guy actually providing a dyno in his thread... it is worth it. We are talking NEW bigger injectors = more fuel plus changing the supercharger belt and wheel size increasing boost. I just placed my order... so I do not even know when to expect it in the mail. It said nothing about backorder. Will wait and see. Here is the link to the $598 price https://www.paceparts.com/index.asp?...earch=17803229 Hope this helps

This is all very new to me. I am planning on getting my local dealer where I bought it to do the install. I will call the 800 number on the site and ask them about the reflash. You already have a stage 2 ?? what was your total cost?

Thanks for the info yellowcobaltss05 I am assuming you are getting yours done locally in Sarasota, FL ?

I still have yet to contact my local dealer I bought the car from for install price, but I did order it today online. From reading the threads here they say it depends on the dealer and how many if any they have installed for install time/price. The book says 1.5 hours on the stage 2 so I read here.

I've seen a lot of people actually notice their fuel economy rise under normal driving with stage 2.

Mine are 20 low 23 average and 26 BEST(mostly highway) with mixed driving/no mods city/highway and easy/hard driving. I have 2,200 miles on my Redline

One trip I took, I hit 34.9 mpg after about 300 miles... Started going down after that because of the increase in the speed limit. (Yes, I do have an SS/SC) That's the best milage I've ever seen out of this car.

I would start here and see if they have them in stock. I would go to the site I posted next if no luck with them.

*****UPDATE i called these people www.paceparts.com/index.asp?PageAction=COMPANY and cancelled my internet order as they are BACKORDERED with 70 (that's seventy) stage 2 kits. I called Quote: Originally Posted by Paradoxhttp://www.carfagnochevy.com/

I am #2 on the backorder list with Steve Hartly behind PFM.

I called Sunset Chevrolet in Sarasota, FL and they do not have any in stock and have to order he said.... which means once again BACKORDER. I was told by Steve it would likely be a month so I am happy with that at this point. NO CREDIT CARD # GIVEN, just my name and phone # to reserve one. HOPE THIS HELPS and thanks Paradox for the good info.

I'm planning on getting my Stage 2 along with exhaust and header soon. Currently (airbox w/ stock filter mod, ingalls TB only)i'm getting 31.5 mpg cruising at 70 to 80mph with AC on. goes up to 33.5 w/o AC at those speeds. We'll see what happens to the mpg after that if I can hold up my 25 pound foot long enough.

Thanks for the post. Did you call to see how many are backordered? The price is now $637 on that site as mentioned by Mike06cobalt.

If anybody wants to get on a short list call Call 610-275-0507 and ask for Steve Hartly. Mention PFM, my initials.

I am #2 on the backorder list with Steve Hartly behind PFM.

I asked about the $580 and he said no problem... he can do that.

The one thing he said that cunfused me was stage 2 was not out for 3 weeks. I said I had read online many people who already had them installed. Maybe he is talking about the next shipment. I talked to the Service Manager at the dealer where I bought my REDLINE today and although he seemed to know nothing about the GM kits, his Tech did as he owns a Redline and said they would definately be interested in the install at $78 per hr and when I get the kit to bring it in so they could read the literature, but it sounds like something they can handle. Seems one guy in my area is having trouble getting a dealer to install even though it is GM. I am happy with that answer and I'll post when I know more.

So I went to the dealer and the guy was guestimating that the install would be like $250. I got a parts guy to call for an actual time the install is supposed to take and they'll call me with a price tomorrow. But 250 as he was guessing is way off of the 90-100 I've been seeing on the forums here. What the hell?

My dealer said less than 2 hours. I'll be quoted for 2 hours though and it's $80 bucks and hour soo $160 all together. Not to shabby.
