stage 2

okay well im looking into stage 2 and i was wondering if its necessary to get an aftermarket h/e or any intercooler system before i get stage 2. Would i be able to run stage 2 w/ CAI and cat-back exhaust safely without doing any harm to the engine/other components?

depends which version of stage 2. Depends on what size pulley you get, Depends on the tune

yes

but I would look into Over the top performance stage 1 instead. Unless you are trying to keep a warrenty, but since you have a cai and exhaust I doubt thats the case. Check out this site overthetopperformance.com

This is all wrong. There is only one type of stage 2, the pulley comes with the stage 2 kit, and the tune also.

SO don't listen to this guy.

The answer is 100% yes to upgrading only to stage 2. However if you were to pulley down, and get larger injectors than the 42lbs that come with a stage 2 kit. Then you would want to consider more cooling. However you can safely run stage 2 without additional cooling mods.

I persoanlly bought my car from the dealer with GM stage 2 and an aftermarket cai. It ran perfectly. I have upgraded since then...but believe me you'll be fine.

you truely are a retard "there is only one type of stage 2" Hmm, lets see...there is a Gm Stage 2, Cobalt Addiction Stage 2 and then OTTP's Stage 1 which is better then both those stage 2 kits....kid stfu and get out unless you know what you are talking about.

Also you said "the answer is 100% yes".....i call bs on that. I ran 2.8" pulley, 60lb injectors and CAI...never seen temps higher then 140* after 5 pulls on the dyno.

Maybe learn more about the cobalt and actualy do some work yourself before you start bashing other peoples posts.

yes, you will be fine. GM does put there tunes abit rich so i've heard. But yes you will be perfectly fine. Although if you arent 100% worried about your warrenty, i suggest going with the OTTP stage 1 kit. Smaller pulley, bigger injectors, smaller belt and better tune.

Just do some research on the forums/internet. Dont always listen to one person because either A. they could be correct. B. they could have honestly made a mistake. C. they think they know everything but they just dont have one damn clue what they are talking about. Thats what i do when im learning something new....gather info and sort the bs out from the true stuff.

Well I'm glad I could help since I answered your question correctly the first time. I automatically assumed you ment GM stage 2 since that is always what people mean when they say "stage 2." Hence why I said there is only 1 stage 2. Anyways Snake your a dick hole and you are just mad that I was right and your the one that doesn't know ****. I'll bash your post all I want because it was vague and misleading to someone that is new. Plus calling out your shitty post got you to man up and give this kid some good advise...although I already gave him identical advise...

Anyways good luck with stage 2 and PM me if you have any questions.

I wont post on here again because Snake is obviously going to retaliate and act like a child....as we have already noticed above.

Like i said viceversa. Some people are wrong, some people are right. Best thing to do is do some research and see what you want. In my opinion...like i already said, if you arent worried about your warrenty, get OTTP stage 1. Its better bang for the buck sort of speak. You get better power for the money. Not sure what your dealership is quoting you for price. But it would have cost me $1200 for Stage 2. I went out and bought a 2.8 pulley, harness, smaller belt and bigger injectors for $500. Got the tune for free since the guy that tuned me wasnt familiar with cobalts. But avg. tuning will cost you around $400 (200 for the licence and 200 for the time to tune)

Lol viceversa, you'll learn fast that everytime you make a thread the first 2-5 posts are actual important and helpful info and the rest is typically every one compareing dick sizes n bashin lololol a piece of advice lol use the forums to guide you in the right direction and talk to ppl who have or have had the parts and then do ur own independant reasearch on the car and the parts. As far as your thread I personally went with the gm stage 2 kit to be honest don't waste your money its not what you would expect lol if I was you and had a fresh start all over again I would hit up zzp get your self a nice 2.7ish pulley and matchin hub, hit up ottp get yourself some 60lb injectors n harness, find a gm stage 2 belt (most vendors have them) get your self a fmhe (heat exchanger) keep the stock 1 2, get a meth kit it helps and is fun lol. Find a dual pass and make a stu mod. Get a nice 1.75 primaries header/3in dp combo. Get a nice 3in catback mendralexhaust has a 3in stainless steel 1 for 330. Got find a travelin tuner on here or get to a tunnin shop. Have that bitch tuned and say hello to about 265-275whp and have a fun time. That's what I have learned from expirence. Everyone who gets kits jus go past the kits and would have saved hundreds or in my case thousands. Now this is jus my personal expirence so no one bash me or get tough with me cuz other ppl might have done sumptin diff and had better results, if so help the kid out and get past all your bs

umm if you used the search button. zzp new stage 3 kit comes with a heat exchanger and is more reliable and undetectable by the dealer. they guarantee it. my stage 2 kit from zzp 3.1 pulley, 42lb injectors, reflash and air box mod hangs with the omg ottp stage1 or w.e. it is. im not down talking ottp as a company there products are good. zzp just has more experience and better canned tunes if thats what your looking for. personally get the pulley, hub, injectors and get a dyno tune. thats the best thing u can ever receive.

Don't rely on a canned tune unless the place you are getting it from is close to you, a custom tune is the only way to go. Or if you're going stage 2 just keep that tune until you wanna upgrade

It's fine to run GM stage 2 without supporting mods.

i pieced my "stage" kit together. its another alternative and probably the cheapest option. i bought my injectors, pulley, hub, belt, spark plugs all for a lil over 200. then i got a custom tune from someone with hptuners.

No, it is not junk. A junk tune would be intense.. having bad knock, idle problems and such...

It is just not a ***** out tune. It is safe. Safe imo is not junk.

Any tune called "canned" on here are junk. GM tunes are junk, because they waste gas.

Um that's false. I get better gas mileage on GM stage 2 versus stock, plus no worries of blowing #4.
