Stage 2 and airbox mod

Well I'm new here. So hello everybody!

Anyway I'm getting a '07 Cobalt SS/SC within the next 2 weeks. I was doing some reading and I think that the Stage 2 upgrade is something I would want to do. Is this something that I take to a GM dealer and tell them that I want it done? Does it void any warranty? Is it easily reversible? And most important, do you guys feel it's worth it?

The airbox mod, beyond making it sound better does it do anything for performance? As I understand once the airbox mod is done you can't go back? Does this mod void any warrenty? Is it worth it?

Thanks!
-Mark

You dont have to distroy your box to do the airbox mod.

^^Agreed, My airbox is still in 100% stock condition and I have the airbox mod. All I would have to do to put it back to normal is put the bottom on.

Also, stage 2 is a great upgrade the difference is awesome.

Does the CAI have to be installed by a dealer as well to maintain warrenty?

Yep, just take the lid off and you're good.

The airbox mod is great because it saves you 200$ over an intake which does the exact same thing as the airbox mod.

airbox mod is ghetto i agree.

but if taking the bottom off the airbox, and throwing a $40 quality filter on is gonna give 5-10whp, and make the blower scream....then its a worthy ghetto mod

The airbox mod is a cheap but effective mod. Youll probably get the same amount of power from it has a 200$+ intake. Also no fitment issues. But if your all about a brand new shiney intake then go for it. Personally, Im getting a new intake just because it looks a shitload better than stock. And as far as how much it helps, it seems different for everybody. When I had one on my 06, I felt a little better throttle response and a little more power down low. Some people will say they didnt feel anything but what does that matter. The scream is whats is all about, lol.
