Stage 2 changes?

I had a stage 2 flash on my car, but not the actual one from GM, as I bought the kid used. I had my car in for some random fit/finish issue, and while checking, they decided to flash it with some update that was supposed to get rid of a fuel trim issue that I never had. It basically erased my stage 2 programming, or at least some of it.

Immediately noticable was my redline being reset to 6500, and my fuel economy readout sky-rocketed from ~26 to over 30 in two tanks of gas, despite my actual numbers remaining the same. However, on a positive note, the car's tendancy to hold on to revs after letting off the gas disappeared. Shifting became so much more natural when you let off the gas and the revs drop immediately.

Regardless, due to them re-flashing it without my permission, I fought with them to get the stage 2 programming back on my car. Naturally, this wasn't easy, since my VIN has no record of being flashed in their database. They wound up "re-using" a flash from a recent stage 2 install they performed.

Anyway, to sum things up, car feels more or less like it did before, but the idle is significantly lower. Once warm, it sits at 750. I thought stage 2 had raised the idle? Redline is back where it should be, and my fuel economy readout, after resetting it, has leveled back off to 26-27, although I haven't driven a full tank yet to get my actual numbers.

Anyone out there know of any changes made to the factory stage 2 tune over the past couple years? This is for 2006MY.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Hrm...I suppose they may have lowered it back down. I could have sworn it was 750 stock, but bumped to 875 with the stage kits. Not that I care, it seems to be running fine so far. Idling at 750 does give the car a nice vibration, though.

The original 06 stage 2 tune had the idle at 750. They made some changes to the tune in several areas to address idle issues and a few other things. The "new" tune had an idle of 850. The 07 stage 2, BTW, went back to an idle of 750.
