Thumbs up Stage 2 Good News

I had the parts manager at the dealership PHONE me. He has been checking every 2 days for the availability. Today he was told by GM parts in the US 2 things. First we Canadians are crazy and we must all want our Cobalts to go fast, because he gets so many calls from Canada for these kits. Second, kits are out at the end of the month maybe even sooner.
Now for lower mainland SS\SC owners I was told $1,000. for stage 2 discounted from msrp of $1265. I am first on the list. I also told the service manager that he can take my car for a spin after stage 2 is installed and he is really keen on that as he hasn't driven an SS\SC yet. I bet this keeps my shop time to a minimum
So way to go all of us crazy Canadians. The wait is almost over

The wait is almost over. I had not talked to the parts manager in 3 weeks. He phoned me to tell me the news which I consider significant.

Grrrrrr......Patiently waiting......

It really sucks when you have the money, but it's not available. I am so damn hungry for more power, but I want to do it safely (at first). If Intense or someone comes out with another flash for crazy power later, I buy that if it is still reliable!!!

I really hope dealers sell stage 2 for $590 US currency. That would be sweet. If not, i'm going to have do my best in trying to ocnince them to lower the price.

Its funny how this thread has a few posts even thou its older then the 'Bad news thread"
I just fund it funny that evey one likes that thread more.......

It will be out when its out. They have already goten a CARB OE# so they cant change anything on the kit now. So the kit cant be to far out now. They would not have gone to all the truble and expense (And it is expensive) to go get the CARB OE# and then not make the things or change them and have to get it agen.

Trust me they will be out its just a mater of when?

Later

I emailed GMPP last night after getting tired of all the rumors and other BS and I got a response back from them. As with all the other rumors going around take this with a grain of salt. Maybe the author of the response to me didn't know what they were talking about either.....

My email to them:

Are you guys going to be announcing a release date for the "Stage
Kits" For the Cobalt SS and Ion Redline anytime soon? Everyone in the
community is begging and pleading for information and we know nothing.

Thanks for your time,
MY NAME

Here is their response I just received a few minutes ago:

Thank you for visiting the Goodwrench website, Mr. MY NAME.

We appreciate your e-mail regarding the Stage 1 and 2 kits for the
Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Saturn Ion Redline. Stage 1 (p/n 17801947) will be
available at the end of March and Stage 2 (p/n 17803229) will be available
at the end of April. The Stage 1 and Stage 2 kit is part number 17803230,
and will also be available in April.

These kits are as follows,

Part number 17801947 contains, instructions, altered vehicle label, and
fuel injector kit.

Part number 17803230 contains instructions, altered vehicle label,
supercharger pulley hub, supercharger pulley, 4 of the supercharger pulley
bolts, belt, hex head wrench, and square head wrench.

Part number 17803229 contains both kits above, meaning you can get a
partial kit in 2 different ways or 17803229 that is the complete kit.

Please keep in contact with your local GM Performance Parts Dealer to order
them as soon as they are available. Be aware that not all GM Dealers are
authorized GM Performance Parts Dealers.

To locate a GM Performance Parts Dealer in your area, please visit our
website at www.gmgoodwrench.com and click 'Advanced Search' under 'Find
your GM Dealer' at the right of the screen. This will bring you to a new
window where you can select 'GM Performance Parts' besides 'Dealer
Specialties'.

If we can assist you in the future, please visit www.gmgoodwrench.com.

Thank you for your inquiry.
Regards,
Goodwrench Internet Response Team

Sorry for the long post and I know they didn't answer the question about the reflashes but at least its news that didn't come from some guy dads sisters husband who works at GM.

Yeah you are right but for 40 days or less we get the BEST Engineered parts for the Cobalts and Ions. It really doesn't matter to me that they don't have the HP potential the other kits do. I know the engineers at GM and I know they try their best to come up with a great product.

I agree. Most people on here will be happy since the concensus seems to be to get stage 1 and a separate pulley anyway. It may be more expensive to do it in steps but i will take stage 1 as a start....
