talk to the dealers. they shouldn't give you a problem, but you should make sure. i cant see them "voiding your warrant"(y).

my advice. just order thru the dealer. if they wont give you a lower price that you found online, go elsewhere or give em hell

The dealer can see on the box that it is a GMPP part. Also, the injectors come in a GM box. I showed them the receipt from Fred Beans that stated that Fred Beans is a GM dealer.

I live in PA so I was just going to drive out and stay near Intense for a few days and let them do what they need to do, but thats a year away so alot may change by then unless I can sell my car faster, I dont really care about the engine warranty, Ive owned an ecotec for 4 years and over 93,000 miles I know what they are capable of and if something goes wrong im familar with the motor, id rather fix myself anyway

grrrrrr......went to pulleyboys today (1 hr drive) to get the 2.8 put on and he did not have the stupid f'n special key to take off the bolts from the GM stage 2. GM never gave them to me. I'm gonna call em up and they BETTER send them to me! I'll raise a dam fit if they don't.

keep in mind that those that do install the stage 2 themselves that you WILL still be charged for getting the flash done. The service manager when I got mine installed was saying that when they call in to get the confirmation they can either get it done within 20 minutes or 2 hours. What he mentioned was that they are sent into a queue when they call so they can sit on hold for quite some time before they can get the confirmation completed.

And you were doubting me and thought I was nuts HA HA HAHHHHH!!

No no... I actually have 100,000 MILE warranty... 6 year 100k MILES. not Kilometers...

Wow so your warranties are measured in kilometers.. Errr... hate to say it but that blows.

I just finished mine. Paid a hair over $600 for the kit shipped to my door from paceparts

Dealer charged me ~95 for the reflash, and I'm happy as hell with it

If you want my advice, cough up the cash for the puller tool and do the install yourself. I did mine in less than 3 hours and saved alot of cash.

Not to mention that most dealerships will use a press to pull the stock pulley and re-install the new hub. I care a little much about my eaton to allow all that.

Anyone ever get indepth on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act? Supposedly (not sure if I would really try it) but the dealer cannot void your warranty when you add aftermarket parts if they are as good/better quality than originals, and unless they can prove without a doubt that the aftermarket parts caused whatever breaks. I've read through it and it sounds good, not sure if it's worth testing. I mean If I put on Header/exhaust/pulley, and a sunroof breaks they aren't gonna fix it? At least in that situation they have to. And the being installed by a dealer or voiding your warranty is a little bs according to the magnusson act. As long as it's installed by a qualified mechanic, it is supposed to be covered, and somewhere in there it actually says they are supposed to do the work for free if they tell you that. lol, again don't know if you'd get away with it but worth reading up on.

tell the dumb ***** that it is a 2 hour install time. and that they don't need to install stage 1 and then stage 2. wich would allow them to make it 400 bucks.

I paid 2.5 hours 238 bucks after tax.

FYI for anyone in MD, I just called Jerry's Chevrolet, they are one of the few dealerships around here that I know have done the install, and they quoted me 8 HOURS labor.

I laughed at them because I thought the guy was kidding. But the service guy said again for that install, its 8 hours labor.

I told him that GM quotes 2.5 hours, and he said it dosent matter, they charge 8.

So, with that said, any one know of a MD dealership that knows what they are talking about?

Sorry for the hijack.

I bought my puller from pulleyboys when I picked up the 2.8

I think the puller was $100, and from what I've seen that's pretty much par.
I dunno about the Intense puller, but I'm pretty certain that ZZP is the same price.

The stg 2 belt is a very snug fit with the stg 2 pulley, it just takes a little work and some patience to get it on. The toughest part (for me) was just getting the belt routed around the lower pulleys and guides. Probably would have been easier with skinnier forearms though.
