Stage 2 or No?

Ok, so I have been toying with the Idea of saying **** the warranty on my engine and going 2.8 pulley, NON-GM 42.5lbs injectors, and HP Tuners...

SO what I want feedback on is what engine problems have people had problems on here that I would be risking not being covered if i didnt go GM S2? And are they minor enough repairs that they can be fixed pretty cheap?

Don't waste the money on the GM Stage II. I did a 2.7" Billetflow with 42lb SVO green top injectors. I tuned it myself with HP Tuners and it runs like a beast! If you havea good tune and enough fuel then you have nothing to worry about. I have the airbox mod now but I'm installing the K&N Typhoon intake this weekend

I just did a Dynomax Ultra Flo muffler with the stock catback and it picked up some power and it sounds awesome. Next up is porting the blower and throttle body then I'm done. This is my girlfriend's daily driver btw

I used the BKR7E plugs (use copper!) gapped at .035" and I'm seeing almost 18psi right now. I plan on seeing 19-20psi when it's all said and done and about 260-265whp. The car will be very reliable for a long time even at that. Also, the 42's will handle a 2.6-2.7" pulley no problem. So I say just go for it - because the GM Stage II will just leave you wanting more

Chris

Idk man - I just got stage 2 installed two days ago, I love it. And of course it leaves you wanting more, it's natural to want more than you have, I call it part of life.

Now, my clutch decided to start slipping the same day, so now I need to get that replaced first, then I'm going to get HP Tuners and the smaller pulley.

I'd offer to take you for a ride with stage 2, but you and I would have non-related issues with who we know. I'm sure by know your well aware of who I am and who we both know.

....yep, but he has the right to not like me for obviou reasons. hopefully I am just gonna get the tuners, pulley, and injectors soon anyway.

Question! Why are you getting HP Tuners and a smaller pulley? Didnt you get the S2 to keep it under warranty? those will void it...

I got it because I had nothing better to spend $900 on. And it was a place to start. Plus, I don't know much about cars to begin with, so this was easier. That and my dealer loves me and they wouldn't care if I put the smaller pulley on. ****, I was there for 5 hours today bullshitting with all the salesmen and shop guys.

I would run GM stage II. It makes enough power, and you don't have to worry about buring a hole in your pocket. HP is pretty risky if you ask me. At least with stage II I know it has been factory tuned and is safe to run.

Just my advice. It's up to you.

A) Thats an opinion thats incorrect to me

B) TONS of people use HP Tuners and it works phoenominal. Tuner programs are great and are only risky if you dont know how to work it well. My good friends have the DHP Powertuner with their grandprixs and this is gonna be pretty much the same concept, just a different motor.
