Stage 2 Problem?

Hey Guys,

I just recieved/Installed my GM Stage 2 in my 2007 Cobaly SS, Now everthing went well, However, I had read that the Rev Limiter should have been Extended to 7,000 RPM and when I got the car back it STILL said that Redline was ar 6,500? Is this Normal? Thanks

P.S. Is it also Normal to get like 24-26 Miles per Gallon? Seems like Since I put the GM Stage 2 in it Decreased my Gas Mileage by about -2 to -3 per Gallon?

did you try redlining it and see if the rev limiter is set to 7k?

the stage kit may reduce your fuel economy a bit but i was told the on board mpg reading is not accurate anymore due to bigger injectors used

I Just thougt that when the Kit gets Installed that you would Visibly see the Higher Rev Limit. Is that Not the Case? Thanks

Not when using the GM 42lb/hr injectors. The fuel economy reading will be just as accurate as it was stock. When you enter the world of aftermarket/larger injectors they tend to skew the reading.

As for the 6,500rpm limiter issue. GM reduced the limiter back to 6,500rpm in some of the later issues of the tune. I would still take it back to the dealer and ask them to make sure they did in fact flash your PCM though.

Visibly? As in, on the tachometer when you redline it? Or just all the time?

Were you expecting them to take an eraser and erase some of your redline so you could VISIBLY see your redline was 7k?

Thanks Guys...I Appreciate ALL of your Help! Tell you what though, I have Noticed a Huge Difference between my Balt just having a CAI(Air Box MOD) and having GM Stage 2 Installed as well, Its like Night & Day! The Boost Builds much Faster, Harder and Longer. Next MOD: Exhaust, Header/Down Pipe Combo.
