Exclamation Stage 2 problem(i think)

Hi everyone i am really new here and I have a quick question. I just had stage 2 installed on my ss and I can not seem to get past 12psi boost. At about 5k rpm it gets to 12psi and will stay there until red line. Has anyone else had this happen to them if so what did you do to fix it? Or is there even a problem?

you sure you don't have stage 1? Do you have a stage 2 pulley with blue bolts?

Yes I do have stage 2 with the blue bolts. I do have the 7k red line and I have less than 10k miles. I know with stage 2 it moved the red line up to 7k i just dont know why for 3k rpm it stays at 12psi?

I would think if it have to do with belt slip it would get to 12psi and jump back down to 8-10 then back up. But I dont think it would slip on 12psi every time. What psi is everyone else seeing with stage 2? I think it might be a bypass problem but I really dont know how or what to do if it is.

Just got the car back from the shop today, they said everything seemed fine. I just thought it would have a higher boost after a smaller belt and pulley? I'm I right in thinking that?

is your car running alright? did they flash your car?...and go back to the shop and slap them in the face and tell them that its only common sense to have more than the stock 12.5 psi after a smaller pully..how much boost did you have before stage 2?..oh and do you have intake exhaust? it opens it up a bit more

Car is running fine they did flash my car the new red line is at 7k. Before I had 12psi boost, the shop said they would not do any thing unless I could fine where gm says the boost increases.

did you say to them... that a smaller pulley and belt would increase the amout of air being forced in and in turn create a higher boost PSI..... since more air being compressed at a faster rate would increase PSI)

I wish they are not going to hear anything I say. I am going to need something from GM. Anyone have any ideas where I could find something like that?

go to Crateenginedepot.com or something like that (supporting vendor on this site)..go to the cobalt section and click on the stage 2 kit and print out the dyno chart and show them..and if it comes down to it either A go to a different dealer that actual has common sense about a supercharger that any one can learn in 2 min...or B send a phone call/ letter over to GM complaining about their service (talk to the manager of the dealership and explain to him that superchargers create higher boost when you put a smaller pully on)

I know I got stage 2 and the new flash which is why i really don't understand why I am not get more of a boost. Does GM have a support number for things like this? Or has GM ever said that with stage 2 you will get a increase in boost. I know it seems to be commonsense that you would but I don't think this dealer really knows what they are doing.

what was your car boosting before stage 2?? I mean it depends alot on your altitude and where your at... I was pushing 12.5 stock and have upwards of 15 psi of boost now with stage 2

yah bro go to a dealer that knows what their talking about, or maybe your just not reading your guage right.... Go check if everythings in its right place, such as the pulley was definetly put on... Also i hope you got your stock parts from them back go check if it is the right pulley that was put on the car

ok well if you go back tell them that you don't think that its making all the power that is should be and tell them that its listed to put your car at about 245 hp, then ask them to dyno it lol.... and use this as your reference.... i don't think that will really work but it's worth a try i guess....
