Stage 2 question

Im installing this myself. I'm posting in here because I feel like Ill get a better response. Right now, Im in minnesota and they are quoting me for an 8 hour install, so Im doing it myself cuz it's easy. Will I need a pulley remover? If so, where can i get one? Should I rent or Buy? And does anyone know where I can find good configs for the tune? I live in Minnesota and I know 2 tuners. If I can find a dealer wholl install in less than 8, let me know!!!! PLEASE!!! The HP Tune is pretty expensive, so maybe Ill have the dealer do it.
THanks guys
Bryan

yes you will need a pulley puller. Just rent one unless you plan on changing pullies often then buy one. 8 hours does seem like a long time. Since you bought the GM stage 2 kit, once you install the parts, take it to a dealership and they will do the reflash for free. The reflash is a part of the kit and it must be done. You already paid for the stage 2 reflash. Just install all the parts and then drive to the dealership. Make sure you bring your paper work with the reflash code number on it. Also baby the car the whole way to the dealership, it will be fine.

keep in mind that your actually wasting money by installing yourself.

because by doing that you reduce the implied S2 warranty, from the full car warranty, down to 12 months....in which case you might as well have just bought the pully, injectors, and tune.

If your going to buy the stage 2 kit. you need to have it installed by GM to truely get the benefit (warranty) from the kit.

Have you shopped around different dealerships?

ive never heard of that, do you have proof? technically hes not wasting money now since it would appear as if he already bought the kit. He would only be wasting money if needed warranty work done after 12 months and for some crazy reason they told him no, which i would highly doubt

Its written right in the GM Parts catalogue

i will quote verbatim from the page in front of me:

"The systems are covered under the vehicle's warranty if installation is performed by a GM dealer.
For the do-it-yourself installer, the parts are covered by a 12-month warranty"

ohh, i miss understood you. Yeah but what is there to warranty? The injectors and pulley. . .not really worth spending 350+ dollars to have a dealer do the install

the warranty you get for having it installed at the gm dealer is not just the parts

its the POWERTRAIN warranty, that can be voided if you use aftermarket parts that can be linked in any way to an engine failure.

that to me...is worth the $200 i paid to have mine installed.

dealor only quoted me 3 hours.. hmmm then again they didn't do the reflash (another hour), all i can think you need is the pulley remover, buy it incase you decide to go to a smaller pulley later
