Stage 2 questions

Just picked up a Stage 2 kit and have a few questions. First off i am going to have either holz do it and just pay or have my mechanic do it for free. My question is will the car learn (adapt) to the stage 2 kit or do i still have to GM flash the ECU? I'm very new to upgrading a vehicle/performance parts is there anything one should know before and after installation? Thanks for any information.

p.s. and yes i used the search button but didnt see anything pertaining to these questions.

1. You're required to go to GM for a flash (about $100)
2. If a private mechanic does it, any problems that might arise from the installation or any parts effected by a faulty installation are not covered by the dealer

For me, I paid $400 and had the dealer install it (peace of mind and entire job fully warrantied by dealer)
