You're asking the price for the flash, asking them how much for install of the whole kit is where you get your crazy $$$$ from.

yeah also if you dont have it installed at a dealer and they happen to want to see proof of the dealer installing for warranty work, they wont cover you cause you installed it yourself

If a GM dealer installs your S2 kit the S2 kit is under warranty for the remainder of the cars warranty. If you install the S2 kit yourself, you have a 12month/12,000 mile warranty on S2, and god only knows the dealership will give you **** about not having them install it every time you take your car in for work.

Yes you can but dont expecnt them to warranty anything that MAY be caused by your S2 kit because they didnt put it on. To me its smarter to have the dealership put the kit on so they cant give you any **** about it down the road.

is it okay to drive with out the retune? I don't want to mess anything up on the way to the dealer. Do I need any special tools?

I drove mine to the dealer and i really didn't notice a thing. All this warranty worry , if you install it right and take your time there's nothing to worry about . They only cover the stage 2 parts for 12/12000 rather than the 3/36 of the new car warranty. It took them 20 min's to flash it including calling the tech line .

Yeah but the stage kit parts are warrantied in the bumper to bumper warranty i'm almost positive thats what i read in dealerworld . I'm not talking about powertrain, they can't void your powertrain warranty because you installed your own stage kit , but they don't have to warranty the kit parts past 12/12K.

i've been driving on one of the first stage 2 tunes since around May 2006 and it hasn't given me problems yet (CAI gave a couple codes, but got that sorted out). It does have a lag going into second when its cold, but thats due to the open loop fuel mapping when your car isn't warmed up yet (sorta the same thing happened on my 2000 jetta when it was cold actually).

The only change i know of in the stage 2 reflash are certain code parameters to keep lean codes from being thrown. I don't find the need in reprogramming something thats never given me problems, i say wait until you get codes thrown if its already out of your warranty range. I'm planning on getting hptuned anyways, so a reflash would be a waste.

so thats good then, i really dont care about the warranty issues if i take my time and make sure its right. so if i install all that stuff and drive it to the dealer, how much do u think the cost to do the tune is?
