Stage 2 vs programmer

Ok here's my question
Is it necesary to run 93 octane with a stage 2 kit?
I know gm says it is but gm says a lot of bs. I have looked everywhere and can't find a definitive answer.
The reason why this is a problem is the closest station that carries 93 is over an hour away. I have issues getting 91....
If I have to run 93 I'm going to be getting a programmer. I've been reading about trifecta but I'm clueless as to what would be best to go with.

Any help would be very appreciated

No you do not need 93, yes you need 91.

Just a tune on your stock pulley will be nothing compared to a Stage Kit, the GM Stage kit also has a very rich tune while being very expensive. Your better off getting a kit from either OTTP or ZZP. More power for less cash, then get a real tune like trifecta.

Awesome. Thanks.

I've been looking at the zzp stage 2 but from their site It doesn't seem like it has as much hp gain as the gm, I may have just misread it though.

I honestly have no idea what the car has done. I bought it used, the guy said it was stock but it only loses to a bolt-on ls1 by about a car from a 20 roll....

But back on topic, I'll be doing a stage 2 since you can run 91, either a gm or zzp, would you say trifecta would be the best tune to go with after? Or is there a better route?

Intake/exhaust should be obvious. If the pulley is pressed on it's stock, if it has bolt's it's not. Ottp Stage 2, just get a custom HP tuners tune.

Exhaust is back to stock, what was on it sounded terrible. The intake I'm assuming is factory because me sc whine is pretty much inaudible but it doesnt fit the car right (it has wear spots from where the hood rubs on it) have never looked at the pulley though. I will be doing that in the morning.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the ottp

The intake should not rub the hood. Got a photo of the engine bay? Also if it has a pulley check what injectors are on it. Lime green is stock.

Get custom tuned man, that way if you decide to run 91 octane your timing tables will be programmed for it that way u wont have knock or reduced dramatically.

Probably my best bet. 91 is my only option.
