How much whine is obtained with Stage 2 alone? I am currently looking into purchasing this upgrade for my 05 cobalt ss/sc but was wondering if it increased the whine significantly without the help of a CAI. I eventually will purchase an intake in conjunction with the stage 2 but was just wondering if the sound will hold me over for awhile. Thanks, I also am assuming that the smaller pulley will make the supercharger louder but any previous experience would be appreciated.

 

it'll whine like u wouldnt believe, the pulley does however create a different tone from the whine, but its stil nice.

 

Im sure it will make it louder than stock but why would you get a stage 2 before an intake, or exhaust if you don't have one, it will only creat backpressure. you'll still gain power but not nearly its potential. Get an intake before the stage 2, with a smaller pulley the blower needs more air to produce the boost and thats with an intake.

 

If you want SC whine, go with a 2.5" pulley!

 

The reason im waiting to get an intake is because of the CEL situation. My understanding is when the reflash is done with the stage 2 there is no more CEL. That is why im waiting.

 

Ive had the Injen CAI now for about 2 months and never had a CEL come on. And plus it sounds real nice.

 

the cai and the stage 2 pulley both give a big s.c whine so if you go with the intake and 3'' pulley, it will whine like u wouldnt believe
