I got my pulley free and getting the install for free also. I work in the parts dept at a GM dealership. It's one of the perks for working here.

Will post on how it works out.

yea. so far stage 2 kit installed, stage 3 pulley, GMPP sport exhaust installed, GMPP straight tip, GMPP honed manifold, GM red dash trim kit, and Ingalls torque damper:

cost for all = 12 years of working for them

are you aware that GM can sell you the parts to turn your 2.2 ecotec into a 1000hp+ monster?

sure they make it. and they stand by it.
But GM knows the limits of their powertrains. and obviously they know that certain things are safe to warranty. and certain things are not.

Would it be smart for GM to warranty your engine no matter WHAT gm parts you put on it?

god no. they would be broke in a week.
cuz everyone would be driving warrantied drag cars.

So does adding the stage 3 pulley without the stage 3 PCM to the cobalt still void the warranty?

hmmmm...

I notice a lot of people telling others what IS and IS NOT covered yet I don't see too many people with "Stage 3" in their sig?

I have a Stage 3 with Nitrous installed by the dealership and it is warrantied, both parts and labor (minus the nitrous parts since I didn't buy the kit through them).

And yes, I have it in writing...yes I have already had an issue with it since the install and yes, they covered it fully without saying so much as "well". No issues over here.

I would say..if one dealership says "no"...look around. If people on this site who don't have it say "no"...well...maybe you should ask someone who has the kit..not someone who doesn't. Not being rude...just stating the obvious. Way too much speculation from people who don't have it...thats all.

you have an exception to the rule.
what we are saying is, by the books, and what GM has IN WRITING, technically you are not going to get warranty.

thats not to say you might find some dealership who might, MIGHT work with you.

the reason we are saying NO, is because the last thing we need to do, is have a few people who got lucky, having warrantied stage 3, making EVERYONE believe they can get it, and then find out the hard way that its not true.

The short answer is. Stage 3 is NOT warrantied.

and we need to stick by this answer, to protect our fellow cobalt owners from going and getting stage 3, and saying "well such and such member said it was warrantied"

cuz "such and such said so" isnt an excuse GM is gonna listen to if you walk in with a blown engine.

Does anyone know if you can re-activate the A/C by using HP tuners on the stage 3 PCM?? Based on the website, they say they disabled the A/C to discourage use on the highway. How queer is that??
