Nice #s...just got to say it ain't crap without nitrous
Over 300lbs feet of torque? I have been there for a while...but I aint riding a balt, Im only putting down 330wtq....but thats just stock turbo, basicly no lag!

nice numbers. I'm not trying to stir anything up when saying this, but how much money did you spend on everything so far. the whipple swap put out damn near 300hp with it's conservative tune and not even taking it past 6000rpms. They are aiming for over 300 still with no exhaust upgrades. I know they put out less tq, but for the money, the whipple swap seems to be very well worth it.

As far as cost, I have less than 2K in mods completely, counting all the non-power related stuff. My Holley NOS wet kit cost $300, and I should be very close to his original numbers. I know based off the cars I keep up with I'm damn near 300hp on the bottle. Thats a lot cheaper than a TS swap with supporting mods, and there is no question of drivability or anything, the car is like a stock stg 2 except with a magic extra 50 hp when I want it.
Well, it took me about 3 hours total for the install, so lets say $300 at shop rate. A full bottle is $30, I don't use more than 4-5 pounds a week now, I did use quite a bit when I first installed it. I used it a lot on saturday and only cost me 3 pounds, $7.95 to refill. If you did $30 a week, times 52, you are looking at $1560, but that is a ******* lot of spray. If you are going to spray the car that much to make power, you would be having durability problems with any upgrades, swap or otherwise. You are just going to wear **** out like that. I'd say reasonably $500 a year for refills. So my $2000, + 500 a year, it would take me 5 years to be at the same cost as a TS kit, with very similar power levels. I'm not knocking the TS, I'll probably have one eventually. I'm just letting people know that its nice, easy power for the people who don't need it all the time.
I dont think a TS is necessary, or all these sc upgrades. ENGINE upgrades are the way to go. Pistons, cams, gears, these are all much safer ways to make speed.
whered u get the kit from? Was it hard to install, did it come with instructions?

Bought it used off a local forum, like new condition, its a Holley NOS wet kit. It took me about 3 hours to install, not hard, just takes a little time. I did a second install for another member on here, and it went quicker. The one I got did not include instructions, but you can go to any nitrous manufacturer website and find the pdf files for the original instruction sheet that came with any kit.
stage 3
my stage 3 is being put on as we speak, I also have touring gm exhaust, gm honed manifold, zzp 3" dp, kn cai, jbp mounts, intense transalxe mounts, ebc rotors all around, hawk pads, exedy hypersingle, royal purple oil, trans fluid, and purple ice.
I hope to produce #s like you!
Im going from one day driving stock with NO mods to having everything that I just typed above. I think there will be a big difference I have yet to drive it with these mods. Hopefully it will be done by Friday.

FNFAST only had a aem intake on his I think.

Now I have full exhaust from the header back and yes it made a WORLD of difference.
I can burn the tires pretty good in 3rd on HO Mode running Nitrous. I timed it the other day compared to my brothers Stage 2.8 with full exhaust and I can go from 80-120 faster than his car goes from 40-80
It's pretty fun to see the look on peoples faces when they pull up to race and think they have an easy meal in my cobalt
I have to get redyno'd but considering what I got out of my car on HO made and Nitrous before any exhaust I have to be pinching close to 320 at the wheels.
Plus I took about 200+ pounds out of the car (I stopped eating cookies
I did only have AEM

Removed the Woofer, Entire A/C unit, Sparetire, lightweight exhaust system with no muffler, resonator only, Lighter Race battery and a couple other slight modifications
You know...I should make a weight reduction list for everyone so they can sticky it.

thats a damn good idea. Did u take out ur seats/ any interior??
Did u take out ur seats/ any interior??
The light weight drag radials help save some of that weight too on track day.
Everything starts adding up real quick.
I think I might do that...get some actual weights and start a list of what can be done without any Major modifications...just to help on track days.
