As far as I've been told Stage 2 + 2.9 is "ok"

You could probably get it to run "better" with a tune... but the base Stage 2 tune is so rich you'll be fine. I wouldn't reccomend going any smaller.

im just curious why everyone buys stage 2 then upgrades their pulley, then upgrades their injectors.. and gets a custom tune LOL?

is it just b/c they get a lil power and get addicted and keep wanting more?

i mean you buy stage 2 to KEEP YOUR WARRANTY thats all... think peeps need to realize that.

it will run no problem. stage 2 plus a 2.9 is stage 3, except you can switch to the 100 octane tune whenever

thats a car by car response. It will run better with a tune, but if your wanting to keep warranty your just doing the pulley. Then the question you have to ask is will it be safe? And the only way you can insure that is by monitring with a WB A/F gauge and an Interceptor would be a good idea too.

just go gm stage 1, save your money with buying stage 2, get the gm stage 2 belt, and a 2.9" pulley, save the money and hassle, then just go to your local chevy dealer and ask for a stage 2 retune.

I have the stage II with a 2.85. Mine runs great with no problems. I've put zex plugs, added some exhaust and intake work. You should not have any issues with a 2.9.

You shouldn't have any real running issues. I was fine then i added an intake and driveability got kinda crappy. Every car is different. I just got HP tuned recently and it's so much better than the canned Stage tune.

But what about the stage 2 hub? Won't you require that for a smaller pulley?

2.9" pulley is not stage 3.... Stage 3 pulley = 3"
Stage 2 pulley = 3.1"

That being said, 2.9" pulley is OK so I have heard. I would suggest an A/F gauge if you do though. Personally I wont go under stage 3 pulley without an A/F gauge

About the a/f gauge. I've always wondered why people try to tune with a narrow band o2 sensor. It will never be right. Get a W/B sensor and use that if you want to seriously tune. A/F gauges are just "eye candy". Not trying to step on anyone's toes, just my .02 for what it's worth.

77.9mm is stamped on the pulley for stage 2. That's 3.066". I was always under the impression that it was a 3". Guess after I got it I found out different after I got it lol.
