Insurance cost is part of "the deal". Lesson learned growing up. Personally I would get rid of it and find something more affordable.

There is no way I would fork out that much for insurance. I'm 31 with a clean driving record and pay less than $1K per YEAR for my SS/SC through State Farm. I do get a bit of a price break because I carry multiple policies with them, but still.

Yeah, insurance is actually why I got this car. I was looking at freaking mazda 3's and sentras for price value, and came across this car figuring I would never be able to afford insurance. One day just wondering for sh*ts and giggles I did a price compare for insurance. Sure enough, this car was cheaper than the base models of those cars... I was like wtf... but screw it I'll get the better and faster car out of it while saving money!

shop around before you rid yourself of the ss/sc, i find it kind of crazy that you bought a cobalt ss/sc at 16 as well.. I pay about 1800 a year on my ss/sc so i only feel half your pain, but yea look around if nothing get somethin cheaper to drive

Goddamn, i have two cars under my insurance policy and its about $1500 a year total, My Cobalt SS only takes up about $450 every 6 months. I may be 24 years old, but i still have some young blood in me.

I did forget to add no accidents and only one speeding ticket 3.5 years ago. *knock* *knock* on the wood

have ur parents put there name on the insurance...dont have ur name anywhere on the insurance card....

The law in illinois states that the car HAS TO BE INSURED,but not under ur name...so mines insured under my parents which have excellent driving records...498 6 months
