I have stage 2, I get 15 pounds of boost and my redline is 7,000rpm's. Look at my sig and you'll see my stage 2 dyno. That should help. Notice the 7,000rpm range.

the warranty issue for you is obviously dead as you work at a dealership!

and i dont understand the above quote are you bagging on me or him?
as i said i was impressed by the intense kits numbers but i decided to go with GMs kit. i never (gag) on the aftermarket.

can we please get back on the topic at hand

That is if you have a GM stage kit what is your redline and how much boost are you seeing?
thanks SSpartan

7000 RPM redline and I see around 12-13 Pounds of boost but I am in the Mile High City. 5280 Ft. Elevation.

Have fun with it. I went with GMPP Stage 2 so I can keep warranty. The intense kits are tempting, but if I can get the cash and some mechanical help I'm going to try and duplicate what's going on in the gmperformance.com lsj build up to 300 HP.

I will be replacing my clutch, maybe the LSD upgrad to quaife otherwise just following the build book and I should be ok. If there are other weakpoints besides those I am pointing out here and that are in the build book PM me or post here as I will be getting notification on this thread.

Enjoy your kit!

I am following the same route and if there is still hp to be made after the upgrades I will look at the hp tuner software to optimize afr

With my only mods being Stage 2 and a K&N Drop-In (E-0777 the right one) I see 15 to 16psi after 6000rpm.

Is there any data on just how much wheel HP and TQ gain can be had using the HP tuner in conjunction with the GM Reflash ect...?

I don't know about gains and such, but I believe there is no conjunction. You can only have one or the other.

Maybe the better question is. What is the wheel HP and TQ using HP Tuners and the Injectors and 3" pulley from GM vs. same hardware and the GM tuning? Also can you flash back and forth between the two like I can with my Hypertch for my Silverado?

there really isnt much point to tune over the stage 2 with hp tuners if u arent adding more fuel(larger injectors) or a smaller pulley.

stage 2 is pretty much full out with u add in an exhaust and intake really..

i got my baseline from the same place so hopefully ill get similar conditions.
ill post results here.
i have no other performance mods other than stage 2 so we will have very accurate results.
i wanted to have every step documented.
my stock results were 206 hp 198 trq

Well the stage 1/2 flash from GM is just made specifically for the equipment that comes with it, while also meeting all emissions regulations, etc. With HP tuners, you have a lot of customization options available, and should be able to make more power with the same hardware, but with greater risk if you don't know what you're doing.

Also have no idea about the switching back and forth...but I imagine with HP tuners, you can revert all the settings you change fairly easily.

If I'm wrong there, someone please fix it for me.

HP tuners

i dont have HP but patathSS does and i saw him working with it and it appeared to me that if you have multiple saved programs you could easily falsh back and forth.
but like the above post mentioned if you dont know what your doing you could ruin your car.

there is no reason anybody would have both the GM stage kits and the HP tuner suite.
while having the GM program to build from would be smart most people just buy fuel trim management program from somebody else.

as far as comparison between the two
i couldnt tell ya yet.

many are getting gm stg 2 for the warrenty issue (by the way mine did not get installed today hopefully tomorrow but I have the parts ready).

If you use gm stage 2 until your cars warrenty is gone you can enjoy performance without much of a risk. Once you have other stuff squared away and the HP tuner software becomes more robust you will welcome the software for optimizations such as the afr. The gm reflash is just pre tested settings to allow the kit to run smooth for the specific application while meeting regulations.
