ill post results here.
i have no other performance mods other than stage 2 so we will have very accurate results.
i wanted to have every step documented.
my stock results were 206 hp 198 trq

That is damn close to what I got stock. Let me know, I'm trying to get back to the dyno since all I currently have is GM stage 2 on it. I do plan on getting GMPP header and Corsa exhaust as the next performance upgrades, but will dyno before I add them.

but like the above post mentioned if you dont know what your doing you could ruin your car.

there is no reason anybody would have both the GM stage kits and the HP tuner suite.
while having the GM program to build from would be smart most people just buy fuel trim management program from somebody else.

as far as comparison between the two
i couldnt tell ya yet.
Yeah I looked it over and it seems like the HP Tuner is similar to the set-up on my Dad's motorcycle. I tuned it with someone else's tune that was out on the net. I backed up the 'factory' config to my computer and off loaded it to a usb flash card.

Yeah, for now maybe I'll just do the exhaust, intake, header for a little more power. Then concentrate on a few suspension tweaks, get better tires and a set of all-season performance tires since I am in Colorado then see where I am at in a few. I have an extended warranty and the whole idea when I bought the car over SRT-4 is to have the warranty on the stage kits, along with passing emmisions, street friendly ect.... I just get excited at the prospect of getting to a track and posting sub 13 second 1/4 mile times. (Don't worry I don't expect to get that in Denver's thin air, but I do expect if I did say intense stage 4 or 5 to get real close to breaking into the 13 second range at 5280 ft)

Thanks for all the info folks!

I agree that if were to go down in pulley size and add larger inectors then I could make better use of the HP tuner. I do believe however *based on some assumptions and working with other programmers for various vehicles* I could tune the Cobalt after having stage 2 done to get a little more power. The tradeoff may be emissions not being passed or causing damage to the vehicle.

Since my goals are more toward keeping warranty, more into street power than track power *for now * and passing emissions I will stick with what I've got and open up the airflow on the back-end and do some other upgrades to the ride. I may invest in the upgrades listsed on gmperformancedivision.com.......For all you intense guys keep us informed I may change my mind in the next few months.

DAMNIT that thing pulls.

I am not exactly sure how much boost im getting but it is definently 15+. The redline on mine appears to be about ~7200 before it backs off the rev limiter but I am not sure cus you get there so fast I had to watch the road ( closed course ... of course). Right after the install the revs werent falling when I was in neutral they stayed at about 1400 then fell slowly but after a good warmup they sat steady at about 800. Oh and even after a couple nice runs flooring it (can be scary) I am still getting 24 MPG WOOOOOOOT.

I've taken mine up to 7K RPM. I keep hearing it is 6750 but if it is then I've gone over. I haven't hit anything like the rev limited before.

I take it when you got on the track that it wasn't the same as the rev limited before.

What are the valve springs and the rest of the internals rated for RMP wise? I keep hearing different stories and I don't want to over do it with my car since I am actually loving it with the Stage 2.

im not sure but if the redline was raised and passed all regulations for safety from gm I am sure the internals are of a high enough quality to survive without issue.

I just remembered something. While I was taking bulldog for a spin a couple hours ago I noticed that when I switch gears at about the 7000 redline there is a soft yet easily noticable sound as if a had a mild bov. This interests me because I am for one wondering what it could be. All the parts were installed correctly by the tech dude at the dealer and I looked over the work to make sure everything looked as it should. Any ideas of what it could be?
