Kind of pricey. I was expecting the prices to be lower. But you have to pay to play so i'm in for stage 1, 2.8" pulley, and 3" idler pulley. That will be my own stage 2

A buddy of mine works for a chevrolet dealership here in the next town. I just happen to ask him if we have prices on the kits yet. He looked up the stage 2 part number for me and said his dealership has it listed as $750.00 with an install time of 1.5 hours with no release date yet. Im not sure if anyone knows this yet but thought id share it!

how is that a stage 2 kit? the stage 1 and 2 reflashes will be different, the stage one reflash only remaps the new high flow injectors, u'll still run lean on the stage 2 which has the pulley. If u plan to run a smaller plulley ull only be able to run the stage 2 reflash safely.....cutting corners and trying to save a couple dollars is rediculous.

U might as well run the pulley now....it would have the same leaning out effect as it is.

without the stage 2 reflash ur injectors and computer wont know what to do withall the extra fuel and air ratio.....cmon now.

Ahhh...i dunno about that. The only thing I've seen actually printed in article form regarding the reflashes clearly states that stage 2 incorporates a different calibration:

Stage 1 adds revised fuel injectors and new engine calibration to pick up another 20 hp; Stage 2 increases boost via a smaller supercharger pulley (along with another engine recalibration job) to amp up the torque by about 20 lb-ft. The packages can be readily installed by the owner. Pricing will be announced in November at the Specialty Equipment Market Association show in Las Vegas.

I can't imagine it's the same calibration for both stages.

Otherwise no one would buy stage 2 from GM. In the beginning it seemed like they were the same calibration for both stages but I am starting to believe it's not from the lastest descriptions.

I always thought it was only going to be one calibration also, but now that I look around on crate engine depot I'm starting to change my mind.

This is what they said about the kit that upgrades from stage 1 to stage 2

17803230 Stage 1 to Stage 2 Upgrade Kit, Cobalt SS/Saturn ION Redline

For 05-06 Saturn ION Redline And Chevrolet Cobalt SS with Stage 1 Performance upgrade kit already installed only.
This Kit converts your Stage 1 kit to Stage 2, increasing performance from 230 hp to 245 hp.
Includes supercharger pulley, new special length supercharger belt & specific performance engine calibration.
Premium fuel required.
I already have a pulley (not installed), so I was hoping to just go with the stage 1, but now I'm thinking to just go ahead and get the stage 2.

Stage II all the way! And that'll be all i do to my car. Well, maybe I'll lower it too. but that's it. this is the first car I've owned that I'm pretty much satisfied with with minimal mods.
