stock downpipe

does anyone know the size pipe that they use for the stock downpipe?

Most of it is 3" I believe. It gets crimped down inside and at the exit, but the outside piping is quite large.

bigger than 2.5", id say about 2.75 or 3". I'd go measure my stock one but its up on the loft in the garage.

ok cuz im gettin my custume exhaust put on tom and i wanted to know what size pipe to run from there back

If you plan on keeping the stock DP, 2.25 or 2.5 I sufficent. The DP is quite restictive, and unless you plan on changing it to a 3" piece don't run 3" the rest of the way out. For one you may have sealing issues as the stock unit is designed to bolt up to a 2.5" system.

ok ya i was thinking 2.5 all the way back to my mufflers which are 3. Im getting it all welded so it hopefully wont leak.

When my custom exhaust was made, we deleted my downpipe and just used 3 inch exhaust pipe from where the downpipe was, all the way back to the tail pipe, with no cat, and a magnaflow muffler. I noticed a big gain. Then when I added the zzp header/downpipe/cat I noticed an even bigger gain, but a slight loss in boost, which is good. I still hit 15lbs with the stage 2 kit so I am happy.

I have all the mods in my sig installed minus the meth, that is apparently getting finished tomorrow morning and were doing dyno runs then.

is the 3 bolt flange on the downpipe that hooks to the manifold the same with the 2.0 and 2.2's?
