Stock Shift Light???

I was out tuning my car, when to shift into third at about 7150, missed third gear and reved to 7836 rpm for a fraction of a second, while up there a yellow light in the top corner of the gauge panel lit up. Could this be our stock shift light coming alive?

It might be the upshift light that comes on when we could be getting better gas mileage by doing so. I just ignore it... I'd like to use mine as a shift light but for now I just pretend.

Well there is an option in hp tuners under the fuel control>fuel cutoff menu that says engine over speed lamp. Mine was set at 7500, so I re set it at 6900 but it never came on?

Na, I wasn't worried. Its not gonna hurt anything reving that high for just like .1 seconds. Now actually driving it up there in second or third gear yes thats horible. I was a little worried about that because "WHERE THE HELL WAS MY DAMN REV LIMITER!?!?" supposedly its set at 7400 yet when I missed 3rd it just buzzed right up there to nearly 8000 rpm!

Yeah, I usually watch my tach like a hawk. I missed third, I though I was in gear and went WOT at 7000 rpm while still in neutral.

While logging some runs one night, I managed to get the car to 8175 when I missed. Everytime I powershift I see that little yellow light. Probably not a good thing but oh well. Its a little yellow gear, seems to come on around 7300ish.

I don't drive a Civic by any means... but I've missed a gear while trying to win money, the lack of further acceleration clued me in. I was paying more attension to the road because I was approaching a small bend. But I still won my money due to a perfect launch. You tend to get those when all you have is 110 bucks and you throw 100 of it down.
