Well I tried....there is a setting but it DOESN'T work with my car. Unless there is another setting I don't know about. I put it to 2000 rpm and nothing...3000 nothing....7100 nothing. If someone else like chris from HPT knows something I don't......please jump in. I'm not sure if you guy's light was a glitch or not.


HP Tuners is like bus the ride to Boot Camp.....once you get on you can't get off

Yeah I couldn't figure it out either! Maybe something under "engine diag." I don't know, I kinda stopped trying.

Back in the day when I had my AUTO ford probe SE I reved it to 9000, when redline was 6000 hehe. No light though, just a really pissed off sounding engine.

But yea I believe it is a "Shift before you break me" Light.

How do you know you went to 9000? If the redline was 6 then the tach should peg at like 7 or 8.

ya if you guys look in the owners manual in your glove box it talks about it there, i was trying to search up on how to enable mine (the book says it is not enabled for canadian cobalts) is there a fuse for it? how would they disable it for canadian balts? i guess it doesnt matter seeing as how you guys say it doesnt work in the states either...

I tried this a few months ago but I could never get it to work. I think the code is simply not written into HPT. It always comes on at the same RPM no matter what you set the overspeed lamp to.

It looks like a gear with a cross in it. It is the shift light that is on the 2.2s. Same spot same light.

I just didn't know that it never really came on for the SS's. At first I got annoyed with it cuz it comes on for the best mpg but now I hardly ever notice it...

lmao. ya ive also missed a gear not once but twice. its not very fun. really scary both times cause it jumped to like 8000+ for that fraction of a second. i was worried i might of broke something. but its still running good. (i got an oil change a week later lol)

With the stage 3 PCM, the indicator that you are in 100octane mode is the 'shift light'
