Stock spark plugs gapped at .35 ????
Stock spark plugs gapped at .35 ????
I have Stage 2 with 2.8 pulley installed and running with stock spark plugs,
the rpm is very buggy at low rev and every time i hit the gas and i get some backfire.
while waiting for my NGK's i've tried to reduce the gap of my stock spark plugs
and at my surprise they were .35 were'nt they supposed to be .45 from factory ??
or is it normal for Canadian cars due to our lower gasoline octane????
I know that when putting smaller pulley we should reduce the gap, so i've put them at 30 and it seem pretty much the same,
would it be better to put them at 40 like recommended even if it's taller than my stock plugs ??
Any help or comments will be greatly appreciate
Thanks
Rick

With a 2.8" pulley your gap should be either .40 or .38 at the most.
Once you get the new plugs and gap them at .40 or .38 this issue will go away.
