Talking Stocker...

Hey, I want to keep my car pretty stock, for reliability issues, looks, warranty, and so parents won't know. Besides the GM Stage II upgrade, and a K&N drop in filter, what should I do? I was thinking about the GM exhuast and whatever else they have, but I really want to keep the exhuast noise like stock, so I can race and not have to worry about cops hearing me. Now, the supercharger whining, totally cool. I also have to keep fuel economy in mind because I drive to college every day, about a 50 mile comute each day.

I really appreciate what you guys have to say.

Anything you do to the exhaust will make it louder, or more noticeable to the police.

If you want reliability, fuel economy and warranty, leave it stock. Anytime you alter a car these things change even if not significantly.

Just my 2 pennies.

With the criteria you just mentioned, don't do anything, just leave it stock. You start changing one thing and that leads to another.

Id say a 2.6 pulley, 3 inch exhaust with no muffler, and a fujita intake. jk

Seriously, a lot of guys keep the stock exhaust and have no problems. I think with stage 2 and a K&N drop in, you should be set. With my current tune (for 2.6 pulley) and the stock pulley, I run lean but get 44 mpg highway

GMPP Stage 2 and an intake from a reputable company ( i suggest Injen) would probably be your best bet. Both should be warranty safe and give you no serious drivability or MPG problems.

Also, an Ingalls torque dampener would help with the traction/hop problem your gonna have. These won't cause any damage and take about 5 minutes to take off if you need to have warranty work done.

alright heres the deal

1. if ur driving 50 miles every day the better air flows through your car the better mileage you get

2. if your going to "race" dont worry about exaust noise because if your racing by a cop anyways ur screwed

3. intake and exaust upgrades are not much worry for the warranty part.... if you get the good intake and exausts it will not cause any problems with the engine and therefore your warranty is just as good...

my conclusion is either keep ur drop in filter or get a cold air intake, get a exaust like a corsa touring (touring exausts arent as loud as performance) and if you want get a header and downpipe

Talking GM Performance...

Does GM make a header/downpipe? I know they make an exhuast. If so, I want all of these, and my question is, how load will my car be @ WOT?

Oh, I am not worried about blowing by cops and them hearing it, I am worried about cops further up the freeway, and farther behind attempting to catch up to me, and pick me out of all of the cars.

GM Makes a manifold, not a header. Apparently it's just as good as many of the tube headers.

I dunno about the GMPP exhaust, I've hear the sport one, its' rather loud. BUt maybe the touring would suffice. AS far as intakes. Airbox mod. Use a Aem Dryflow filter casue K&Ns excess oil seeps through the filter and coat your MAF sensor.
