I havent been able to find anything, but i was wondering if there are any stroker kits for your engines, and if not...why not?! From what i have read, you have the same core block as the 2.2 and 2.4. If you guys stroked to a 2.4, you could see some great power gains and adding more boost along with a stroker kit, you could see some enormous gains!

If we were to stroke them, we would lose the inherent strength of a an overhead cam 4cyl which is it's ability to rev fast and make power in the high rpm's

However you are right to say that GM made the LSJ a 2.0 to make it quickly rev... But it is possible to make the 2.0 a 2.2 or 2.4 by lengthening the stroke.
i thought about doing that myself... but then further thinking decided that shorter stroke=faster rev and higher redline... wider powerband and higher redline seem more appealing than more torque down low to cause more traction problems than i already have...
stock sizes-
2.0l - bore 86mm, stroke 86mm
2.2l - bore 86mm, stroke 94.6mm
2.4l - bore 88mm, stroke 98mm
To increase the bore size on our motors not only would the piston need to be changed but also the sleeve, as far as i know Darton is the only company that makes sleeves for the ecotec motors
also another thing to keep in mind is that just because displacement increases doesnt mean that revability changes but generally the longer the stroke the more low end torque a motor will have (think big truck motors) the larger the bore or more oversquare a motor is the more revs and the more high rpm HP potential there is (think 4cyl motorcycle engines)
Ford F-750 500ft lb/torque 200/hp @ 2200 rpm - bore 95mm stroke 105mm
kawasaki ZX-10R 85lb/torque 180/hp @ 11000 rpm - bore 76.5 stroke 55mm
for me i want revs, we have a great supercharger that will give us all the low end torque we can dream of however we are in a FWD car so we are somewhat limited on how much of that we can lay to the ground the larger our powerband is the more traction we can get to the ground and the more hp potential we will have
i hate hondas because they have no grunt at the low end but the high end hp that they do have is pretty impressive (s2000 for example) i also dont like the honda styling but i did have a chance to drive a jackson racing supercharger (m62) equipped gsr a few years ago and i was impressed with the versatility of that motor and i thought if ever a car manufacturer that i liked came out with a decent looking sport compact that had a eaton charged 16v motor i would get it, saw the cobalt like the style liked the feel of the motor and the rest is history
the future plans for my motor will be larger pistons and some fairly agressive cams prolly 258/268
