subaru sound of death question

i was driving the car yesterday and was having a little fun. was driving it a little aggressive, didnt go over 6500 RPM. it missed a couple times and went rich. parked it and looked at the engine, looked fine. went to start it and had the feared subaru sound. so now it is just sitting there.

my question is, if i pull the valve cover and take out the rocker or lash adjuster(whichever broke/fell off) and pull the plug on the injector, would it be ok to drive it a mile on 3 cylinders?

might be a stupid question but where it is parked i cant really work on it or have it sit for an extended amount of time.

really? that would be amazing! so if it drops a cylinder because of breaking a rocker or lash adjuster it will make the dipstick pop out?

When you say blew a plug do you mean the plug blew out as in striped the head and shoot out? Or just that you need a new one?

have you done a compression or a leakdown test yet? is the dipstick popping out? how do you know you broke a follower or had one kicked out i broken follower wont make the dipstick pop but a broken ringland will if you are not having a stick popping problem try replacing the plugs it could be that its tie for a new set

When that happened to my Civic, it was a cracked ringland..

Is there blowby coming from the valve cover/oil filler when u open it?

I'd pull the plugs, could have an electrode burnt off/broke off.

Update:

Went out there and pulled the valve cover off and looked in. There were no rockers or lash adjusters off or broken. Had me worried that it was a piston now. Did a compression test and here are the results 1-4,

1- 198
2-200
3-190
4-195

Now I know you are supposed to do this with a warm engine. Mine was cold. How much of an effect on the numbers would this cause?

I also let the pressure sit there on each cylinder a little bit to see if they dropped and none of them did.

Also, the plugs that I pulled out looked ok I will post pics of them later.

So after all the I figured I would put her back together with new spark plugs gapped to .034. Got everything together and she started right up and ran completely normal!! Idk if a coil was loose or what but no more Subaru sound!!!!
