Supercharger is GRINDING!!! YAY!
Well I finally got my car back today after it being in the shop for two months after the accident. Well we had a new blower put on it.. So I got it out today and about an hour later im hearing this nasty grinding. I pull into a friends driveway and open the hood... yea coming from the supercharger.. after some thinkin im like... "OH ****! SUPERCHARGER OIL!!!" So I call up the shop and ask them if they checked it or even put it in.. Their response," We thought it came full?!?!" So I tell them ima check and call them back. I check.. Yea bone DRY!!! I call them back and was like yea u guys are fucked. The bearings are straight toasted. So now I gotta bring it back to them tomorrow to get it fixed! ****** A!!!! Just thought Id share my bad luck and take it out on the keyboard!

what part do you open to check that? i hear a grinding noise under light acceleration when i'm driving next to a solid wall or jersey barrier, but it could just be the valvetrain or timing chain.

no I'm sorry I will have to disagree. For the amount shops are charging for shop time (on average about 60-80 an hour), there should be no mistakes. You mean to tell me they didn't check if the blower had oil in it? wtf is that? Man I swear, shops are becoming like Mc Donalds: anyone with no talent or training can work there -- did you get fries with that?
hope you get a new blower, and some other "make you feel better" stuff (if I was the owner of the shop I'd have your car fully detailed and polished in and out and a free oil change or a nice discount for your next visit --good PR is a win win for everyone)

no if ands or buts about it, your new blower is **** now, and it's there fault.
get them to either buy a new one or get it rebuilt.
when you take it back get them to open the blower and inspect the components for wear.
JBP has pics of what a worn blower looks like check for this cinda damage

you really gotta inspect the spindles and the houseing.
if you hear the grinding over then engine noise I suspect it already to late

As if the blower dosent come with any oil in it? Thats messed up. I remember at the car show last week some guy walks up to my car and asks me if my SC is working good. I was like "ofcourse it is". He proceeded to tell me how his shop got four of them come in with blown SC's lol I was like "You have no idea what your talking about, I know many owners that push the SCs over the limit with no probs and there is only like 8 of them around here in TOTAL. What a jealous little boy he was.

If it was my shop, and even if you don't come back at least you can leave knowing that you were taken care of with no hassle and I could sleep that night.
