The blades wear down and the coating wears off. You can thank meth injection and or nitroius. A normal SC should not look like that for a long long time. Something very very cold or very very hot will wear them like that pic.

Ok... on the Gen 5 SC they used APC (Abradable Powder Coating) which is a zirconium/ceramic/silicone coating.

Just thought I dig this old post up bc I'm getting ready to change my coupler in hopes to correct the knocking in my S/C....I was hoping to find a "how to" on Coupler replacement bc I've never actually taken apart a S/C......Also, 100ml is definately wrong.....I'm on my second S/C and I couldn't find a spec. anywhere so when I took my old S/C off I drained it to get the spec...From factory our S/C's come filled with 2.5 fl oz. or roughly 75ml of oil don't over do it either bc if it doesn't blow the gaskets it will cause you to lose boost (the more overfilled the more of a loss)...trust me bc I've done it!

bump

Are there two plugs, one for draining and one for filling or just one plug?

...dude, you're like the 100th person to say that.....GM also doesn't tell you to run the dog **** out of the car...so if you do, u can expect to have signs of wear show up....faster.....so certain ppl need to quit whining about actually having to maintain the car they own...if you can't maintain it, and are bitching about doing so...don't drive it.....

Why? Eaton will tell you the same thing, no maintenance is needed on it.

I called Eaton for the M62. They claimed service needs to be done every 12k miles.

NO THEY DIDNT.

I can tell you for CERTAIN that nobody from eaton (who knows about Superchargers) told you that it required service.

Eaton designs them to last the entire life cycle of the engine without maintenece
