Supercharger malfunction

Just done a motor swap in my 06 cobalt ss/sc because the previous motor was locked up. We got everything back together and had to use the supercharger off the locked up motor. Everything seemed to be working fine except the supercharger. Didnt sound like it was working so we cut the car off unhooked it and hooked it back up. It started working for a short period of time. We let the car idle and it sounded like marbels rolling around inside the supercharger. I didnt pay it no attention and continued to drive. Cut the car off, and went inside. Came back out, started car and took off for a test drive, needless to say the car dies on me. My step dad is a mechanic and he says the supercharger locked up. Can anyone help me. Thanks

could be the coupler or bearings in the sc itself. As long as the rotors are not jacked up, it is a cheap easy fix. There is a rebuild kit for the bearings, coupler that include the oil from intense. It is less than $50 if I recall. Just be careful taking it apart to salvage the gaskets.

You should be able to remove the belt and spin it by hand.............

Could have a bearing down or trash between the rotors

You can get a used M62 for relatively cheap, too. So you aren't in terrible shape.

used sc's aren't hard to find. I picked up an extra m90 for my moms car for $30 from a junk yard. I am getting ready to tear it apart and rebuild it. Her's is making the same "marbles" sound and has been for the last 6 months.
