Hey guy im having so trouble with heat i have dual pass heat exchanger and opt b and my charger is way hot to the touch what could be wrong

 

that is just how it is all of you cooling mods cool after the supercharger the only mod that will cool the actual supercharger down will be spaying meth before the supercharger

 

I guess that is all true very good comment. Dose anybody have a diagrahm or pic of how the cores should look or face after installing the dual pass

wait are u saying ur car was not running for a period of time and u touched it and it was hot?

or are u saying u touched it right after driving?

either way its metal(absorbs heat) and its under the hood of your car. the spindles inside create friction which creates heat, your cooling mods have nothing to do with how your supercharger feels to the touch, there is NO WAY you will be able to make your supercharger cool to the touch after driving it.

 

come on man use your head its bolted to the intake manifold which is bolted to the head the engine runs 180+ so yea its gonna get ******* hot and when you load it its gonna get hotter

meth will add octane it dosent do **** for cooling water is what cools down the charge

Motors run hot. That's what they do. Ever wonder why when you pulley down, you have to add cooling mods? Because everything gets hot.

 

maybe check ur ic pump. iats could be getting high, but yes as posted above it's gonna get hot no matter what. it's metal, it's in an engine.

 

meth kits. are a mixture of water and methanol. though u can run 100% of either one.

cool EGTs, intake temps, IATs.

and the meth. increase octane in a sense. causing advance timing=more HP.

so ya it does cool down.

they dont reccomend to run 100% meth. thats why u mix. 50/50/ 60/40 or 70/30 of which ever way you want to run it.

 

a meth kit is a pump pressure line wires tank and a controller not a mixture and meth dosent cool

 

i never said meth cools. but a meth kit. you manually mix water and methanol in the tank

Learn physics. Meth is a liquid when its sprayed. It becomes a vapor (gas) after it absorbs heat (aka cools) it surroundings. Be that air or the walls of the inside of the blower. Water does the same thing but without looking it up I believe water has a higher specific heat than meth so it takes more heat to evaporate.

ive run no meth strait meth and mixed with water my ait2 was the same with strait meth as it was without meth

 

But if if it doesnt become a vapor then it cant burn and it cant make a large improvement on your octane rating. Unless its boiling point is high enough that it wont phase change until it is in the combustion chamber.

 

Your just not spraying enough of it yet...

 

with a methanol kit the meth dosent turn into a vapor its turned into a mist

a 7gph nozzle is plenty
