Swap 2.2 ecotec Cavalier engine - 2.0 SS/SC...??????

Just wondering from the top of my head if the Ecotec 2.0 can fit in the Cavalier's. It is possible....? If you can, can mods be done to make it work....?

You're working with the same block...just get the Ecotec build book and do your own work on your existing engine....you'll save a helluva lot of money and headaches that way.

You should be do-able. The intake position might need to be fabbed up. All other should be good to little fabing needed. You can keep your own block and upgrade it or just go for a turbo also.

There are differences in the engines, for one the 2.0 sprays oil on the bottom of the pistons to cool them. It would be cheaper to upgrade the 2.2 to handle 400hp and super/turbo charge it than it would be to get a stock 2.0 in there.

Well at first,...I didn't know superchargers fit in a Cavalier....then again...One of the main reasons i ask is because the size under the hood of Cavaliers....i figure with the theory of a smaller 2.0 engine comapred to the Ecotec 2.2. and also adding more preformance on the 2.0 would be much gaining then the results of 2.2.....Either way, maybe that Ecotec booklet would be desireable to purchase.....

There's always turbo anyways.....

I thought I read that GM's 2.2 Supercharger fit the Cavalier, Cobalt, and Alero....
