it's cool man, i have worked at numerous shops in my time, tinkered with countless cars over the years. i know how you feel, and i know how the tuners feel.

id really like to see a 2nd-3rd gear pull in your car. im willing to help anyone who is appreciative of it.

guess what. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. hell i have dicked with my car for a week to get the timing right, and other various little things. it will never be 100% perfect. hell stock they aren't perfect. so unless you're willing to shell out the money for your own tuning software. stop complaining. we, the tuners, are trying.

in short, work with the people doing your tunes for you. 99% of the time, they will do their best to make it work for you. name calling, and flat out bullshit is NOT the way to get something done right. you just **** off the people who you will have questions for later.
I couldn't have said it any better. It will never ever be 100%

Rule #2, no out of the box tunes. Every car is different. Custom tunes FTW!

I hope everything works out for you my friend.

I Agree 100%!

People with Aeroforce gauges are particularly annoying. Might as well call those "CANCER METERS" because obviously your car will knock, and they complain everytime it does thinking that there car is going to die, or that it's tuned wrong.

Honestly GM stageII on my buddies '07 was 4* of KR consistently at all RPM's under WOT. I tuned it back to 0-2* in the meantime until we put his new pulley on. But I don't let my own tunes leave with knock like that. Will my tunes knock.....yes, I guarantee it......but they will be as close to perfect as possible at the time of tuning.

YaY, someone else who understands things.

every car knocks, no matter how "fine tuned" it is. now before someone else goes off the handle and starts a war here. certain amounts of knock is not bad. 0.04 isn't going to kill a motor, no matter what you do. 12 will. {if you have 12* of knock, you have issues, seriously, get help}
does my car knock? yepo, is it bad? nope. toe in knock, common occurance on any forced inducted car. not a huge deal, get used to it. you can not eliminate 100% of it. if you do, the car runs like complete crap on tip in.

can i help on getting rid of some knock? yep, that easy! 5 mins, done.

being over protective is fine, going ape **** over .02 of knock count is retarded.

ok im done i swear!

LOL! I just remembered CGSS blowing his motor.

He said he kept popping his dipstick, and I told him he blew his motor. We went driving on the blown motor (not blown bad, but blown) And 0* of knock under WOT even on a blown cylinder with my tune. I found out that he had a bad driving habit where he would accelerate in 4th or 5th gear at normal road speeds (45-65) and go WOT in those gears to pass people. When he did this KR was more like 7-8* which is most likely where he blew it.

Or did he blow it up like most people on those back to back 65-140+mph pulls against their friends car on the Freeway. I swear stay away from SRT-4 races, because every car I knew that blew had something to do with an SRT-4 (CRAZY COINCIDENCES)

And for those people pushing their car to 120+ mph, your tune may be perfect for the track (0-105mph), but by the time you heat soak that thing, and then push it to its max you will see knock and heat that no tune you would be happy with would be able to cure. And if you keep repeating it in the same night you can say RIP to your ride.

im guilty, i have done that. but was stage 2 before i added all the crap to the car. i won't do it now. i was seeing 18 psi on the stage 2 pulley. in 5th at 155 mph.

yikes!
never again, i value my car too much. i think some people are forgetting the idea that when something is compressed, it creates heat. you can disipate this heat for a while. then after that? you're screwed.

i need to check my plugs to see how happy they are doing. i don't beat on my car, so i don't think i'll fall into the catagory of "i blew up my ****", or, "my car is eating plugs"

then again, owning and working on dsm's for 5 years straight has taught me a lot.

So we fixed the problem on Hopeless's car and it was the spark plugs. Kinda weird but he threw the TAG plugs in gapped at .022 and the car ran great. Then he took then out and put the NGK BKR7E's in gapped at .022 and ran the same way. But i told him to atleast re-gap them a little higher to .030 and it should run great. Just another example that it was not my tune!
