taking the cat off
i wouldnt say youd gain enough to remove it specifically.
especially down in the states where they seem far more **** about emissions testing.
if they arent bad in your area, i would suggest if you were replacing the downpipe at some time....to go catless, as the downpipes on these cars are nasty restrictive, and you might as well go catless when your doing it.
but the gains wouldnt be worth the effort of removing it from a stock DP.

The stock cat is actually very easy to gut. Simply remove the pipe, take a crowbar and hammer and have at it. When you've had enough for the moment, turn it over and shake vigourisly and stuff will fall out. Flip back over and repeat.
Yea definately not on the 2.0's.
Sure, I get more pop's because my exhaust always did that, I guess it's just the way it is made to be.
The best is the redline shifts that HUGE flame ***** come out from.
And every 2.2/2.4 I heard sound like that with just exhaust

see i gutted mine and i have that bumble be sound suring accell. not during idle or slow accell but if i tip in a bit it has that sound im curious if its just the noise bouncing around in that empty cat and if it will be better once i put on the catless downpipe.
