this, 30 mins of your time is much cheaper then replacing the fresh diamond pistons you just put in

It's the crank pulley and about 10 10mm bolts and one 13mm bolt, thats it. Not a big deal.

and yes i have done it several times i dont pull the cover unless somthing under there is broken if you pay attention to detail anyone can do it

you forgot the 18mm bolts to pull the engine mount and a 15 for the idler pully

The mount can stay. I did neglect the idler pulley bolt, I thought it was a 13mm, either way. There is a hole through the fender that points straight at it, easy to get at too lol.

well it is getting a short block put in under warranty. the #4 cyl sleeve came loose and started to misshape the block

Nice.

Definitely sounds like a factory defect and not something caused by mods, abuse, ect. Glad to hear GM and the dealer are taking care of it.

sure call tom at crate engine depot and order gm sportcomapct performance build book third edition it will show you how to the procedure also with pics

Lol, if you don't have a basic understanding of how to go about putting pistons in the car, find someone who does to help you or pay someone that knows what they are doing to do the job. Not something you want to experiement on. It's your car, i'm just being honest with you.

just picked up car from dealer, drives great, actully got a long block not a short. service writer told me that not only did the sleeve loosen up but the piston started to oval. he asked me if i beat on it or was out racing it and in my most convincing voice and face i said no i dont know what happened. hehe
