For Those With GM Stage II

I am sure it has been stated or a thread as been started but its early and I cant seem to find it so please comments only and no flaming, yesterday I got the stage II kit installed, I know how to drive the car, so my buddy who has an srt4 wanted to run me so I did, however when going WOT shifting into 2 and 3rd the clutch is slipping, does anyone else have this problem or is it that I need to work on my driver mod? Also when we stated I did not dump the clutch I rolled into it. Before the kit the clutch never slipped other maybe once shifting into second, and keep in mind I dont get one the throttle very often.

Well it is all over the forums just to let you know. Your answer is that our clutches are not the proper clutch for the car. They cannot handle the power the engine puts out at all.

If you are looking to do the spec 2+ and fidanza flywheel just do that. You'll be good to go.

That seems like an awesome kit but wow after buying the kit and installation whew that is a lot of money. I guess I will have to start saving and see how much I have when the clutch does decide to crap out

very interesting as I also have yet to have any issues at all with my clutch. Wonder if there is going to be a recall or at least a known issue that is quickly resolved

I'm in the same situation as the orginal poster. No clutch problems stock, but after stage 2, my clutch is garbage. It only seems to be a problem in 1st and 2nd gear though.

There was a guy on here (i think his name was badmunky or something like that ) who actually did alot of research into perhaps getting GM to replace it, but ended up getting screwed over and having his warranty threatened.

I've heard nothing but good things about the spec clutches, so i'm strongly considering getting a stage 2+ or stage 3 spec clutch.

Until then, i'll just have to delay the 1st-2nd shift.

Exedy cluch > all

Save your money and consider that if your willing to put up with a slightly harsh clutch that WONT slip. I've got a stage 2 and I've never seen slip. Even on a borrowed set of slicks. I believe the replacement master cylinder of choice currently is a adjustable corvette Z06 setup. Which is what I also did. After the install your going to have to leanr how to drive the car all over again though. Lighter flywheel + HD clutch = stalling when your trying to putt around town.

My clutch slipped big time and at times seemed to be intermittent. this was at 6000KM then a long winter (5 months) so there was no traction and I ***** footed around. Come spring with 15000KM I have no slipping at all. I have been to the drag strip and did a couple of burn outs and 6 passes. no problem what so ever. I can see why some guys are in disbelief. my only explaination is the clutch needed longer breakin time. I also bought this car with close to a 1000 K on it before I bought it.

For conversion sake take K / 1.625 to the miles for you YANKEES. LOL I say this with affection. so dont flame for being racist against USA.

Racist!!!

I have had a little trouble with mine. after some good beatings on it, it acts up, and i take it easy for a few weeks. then no problems. They still suck and should have used good ones in the first place.
