Those with Stage 2

I have a few questions for those of you LUCKY enough to have Stage 2. I haven't come across the answers to these in other threads, forgive me if they've already been answered.

1) Any increase in popping/backfiring? I know the Mopar Stage 1 increases popping on the SRTs, just wondering if it's the injectors.

2) How's the 1st to 2nd shift? Does it still bog a little like stock during normal driving?

3) Any change in cruising rpm? I'm wondering if the increased torque will result in a slightly lower highway cruising rpm.

4) How's the stock clutch holding up?

Thanks for any answers. Hopefully I'll be able to answer these questions myself soon enough, I'm just real impatient.

I have stage 1 but I will answer these on that note.

1-2 still a little buggy and takes a bit to get used too, this is the tranny, I dont think any upgrade will fix this. Once you learn it it practically goes away.

popping seems to have increased just slightly, but what really increases this is a Catback with no resonator and a header. Ask my bro on that one LOL. Thats pretty much what an SRT-4 is anyway which is why they pop, like a strait through muff.

Cruising RPM is much lower. While in fourth cruising at 60-80 doesnt feel like you need to be in 5 any more Not a huge difference, but it is noticable.

Stock clutch has never slipped, pray it never does

sorry if not in order

Think about that one for a second.........

Your cruising RPM is never going to change unless you change your tire size.

Not that I have noticed with stock exhaust.

Due to the extra RPM you start 2nd gear higher in the band. That along with the extra power really makes the 1-2 shift nice!

No, but I have notice they raised the idle.

Mine is fine, but we will see how long she lasts.

I agree with ^^^^. No side effects what so ever. I did notice 1 thing for sure though...

When cruising at 60-65, all you have to do is "breath" on the gas pedal and when you look

down your doing 80-85 mph down the highway. Its actually hard to stay below 60 for

sure.

Oh and some kid in a RSX type S tried to race me down the highway yesterday. From a

55 mph run I had him by 3-4 cars before I had to let up because of traffic.

1) no and my exhaust is ot stock.
2)Shifts fine, either wot or easy driving
3)no
4)clutch is fine but then I don't do any 3,000rpm dumps

and even if you do change your tire size unless its major its only usually 1-2 mph, and hte computer still thinks the stock tires are on there and the rpms are still the same at the same rpm..

but like he said..the only way your crusing rpm is going to change is if you change your cruising speed

The only way to change your cruising rpms is to change your gearing

You're right, I don't know what I was thinking. With more torque, curising rpms could be lowered, but only if the gearing was changed.

1. My Cors Exhaust Girgles a little more, which is kinda cool.

2. 1-2 shift is far better, and there is no bogging. I'm still getting used to the 7000rpms
rev limiter though.

3. Crusiing RPM is normal.

4. The stock clutch has been holding up great, so far.

5. (Personal Input) Passing power without shifting is better, the car seems smoother, and
the fun factor is throught the roof!

The SRT-4 Stage 1 comes with 577cc/min and the Stage 2 comes with 682cc/min injectors which are larger than ours on Stage 1 and 2 which i believe we have 440cc/min but i was told our fuel pressure is much more than an SRT-4 meaning that's why they need larger injectors. No popping or anything.. Total change though. I have to RELEARN how to drive the car because of the power being switched. There is a tiny bit of lag at the low end but once u hit 2500rpms look out it takes off. Crusing is normal. When I start it in the morning it doesn't jump around like it wants to stall.. And one funny thing if u put the DIC on the MPG and watch it as u hit the gas you can watch your MPG go down.. Very funny.. but crusing I been getting about 26mpg city driving.. I was getting about 25mpg before Stage 2

1) I have stock exhaust (for now) and no popping sounds great.
2)Shifts better in my opinion 1-2 is better because you're starting out at a higher RPM in 2and now and mor epower to pull you thru quicker. I LOVE the 2nd to 3rd shift now.
3) No but walking by traffic in 4th now is a lot of fun
4) My clutch is holding up fine but I dont abuse it, have never been to the track and don't launch it or do burnouts. I shift it hard and fast at high rpms thru the gears tho quite regularly.

Side note I think the car feels way better overall, smoother, seems like the idle is raised slighty and it def. smooths the car out. Supercharger screams more, and thru more of the RPM range now (earlier) boosts rises much quicker now also. I love it!

Can't wait to get the Ingalls torque dampener too, should really smooth shifts out even more!
